~Elex~

I pulled my cloak over my head, scanning the large crowd. "Jules, I swear to the Gods if you don't get your ass over here I'm going to cremate you," I whisper-shouted after my friend as she grinned and continued moving forward. "You're going to get us killed!" I hissed in exasperation and groaned as Julia moved closer towards the unsuspecting guards. Long story short, we were thieves looking for something to keep us in house and home. Well we're working up to buying the house, but that won't be too far off.

As Julia edged her way over to the two massive, uniform clad dudes, I kept my eye out for any sort of trouble, which is ironic because we're the trouble. Ha ha... I'm so funny. Anyways, people get tired of my jokes pretty quickly so be warned.

I watched as Julia slowly reached her hand into the pocket of the larger one and pulled out a golden compass, bewildered. Her eyes widened and she smirked. I looked around again, wondering how the hell nobody in the huge mob had spotted us, but I guess that was just our luck and shrugged to my self. Julia slowly crept back towards me, cautiously tiptoeing, her feet light as a silvrosa.

Unsurprisingly, guards started shouting and looking around in search of the pocket-pickers that stole their rich people valuables. Jules' eyes widened, and we both started weaving through the crowd, trying to blend in and disappear before the guards caught up with us. My heart raced as I glanced back to see the guards pushing through the throng, their eyes darting around, searching for any sign of us.

"Come on, Elex, we've got to move faster," Julia urged, her voice barely audible over the panicked murmurs of the crowd.

We ducked behind a row of stalls, using the chaotic scene to our advantage. The stolen compass burned in Julia's hand, its golden glow shimmering in the dim light of the market. I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of our prize, even in the midst of our escape.

As we navigated through the maze of alleyways and side streets, I couldn't shake the feeling of exhilaration coursing through my veins. Sure, what we were doing was risky, but there was a thrill in the chase, in outsmarting those who thought themselves above the law.

Finally, we reached the safety of the shadows, far away from the commotion of the market square. Julia grinned triumphantly, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"We did it, Elex! We got what we came for," she exclaimed, holding up the stolen compass like a trophy.

I couldn't help but grin in return, the rush of adrenaline still pumping through my veins.

"Yeah, we did," I replied, feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over me. "But let's not stick around to see how grateful those guards are."

And with that, we slipped into the night, disappearing into the darkness like ghosts, leaving behind nothing but whispers and shadows.
