The kids have finally been dismissed and the only ones left are those who are at the park next door to the school with their parents. Im finally relieved of my duties and can head back inside to leave but before I do that, I make sure no one needs any help cleaning up the grassed yard.

When I get to the area of picnic tables, I see there's only a half of tray of fruit left and a couple sweets that look like brownies that Lizzie made. I pop a half of a brownie into my mouth and moan at how good it tastes. Even for it being gluten-free.

"Woah, did I interrupt something?" Lizzie giggles again and I start to smile at how much I like that sound.

"These are good." I say with my mouth full and she laughs again.

"Take them, please. Are you gluten free?" She asks.

"I'm not and normally don't like them. But these are amazingly delicious." I say once I swallowed.

"I can teach you how to make them sometime?" Lizzie asks in a questioning tone.

"Oh my god yes!" I jump for joy. I love learning new recipes.

"What are you doing tomorrow?" She asks.

"Oh it's the Farm Fair. I run a booth at it and it goes until about eight o'clock. But after it I'm free." I say seeing how disappointed she looked when I said I wouldn't be around.

"Wouldn't you be tired? I wouldn't want to impose. We could always do it another day. Maybe-"

"Lizzie, I won't be too tired." I cut her rambling off and see her cheeks turn a slight shade of pink.

She's cute. I glance her up at down quickly and really look at her this time. She's wearing a cute yellow dress and has a jean jacket on. It fits her bubbly personality and makes her skin glow in this breezy Kansas sun.

"Alright, I'll come find you at the fair. We can decide whose house to go to then?" She asks.

I don't know why I thought she'd just offer her number over like that but I understood. At least I would be seeing her tomorrow.

"Sure, I'll keep my eye out for ya." I smile at her before she has to catch up with the others since they shared a car.

I grab my little tray of the four brownies that were left and make my way to the front door of the school. The school is almost empty and the halls are littered with papers and pencil erasers. I feel and for the janitors at our school. Before getting to my door I see that Jaime's door is closed and her lights are off. Reminder to bitch at her for not saying bye before leaving.

I walk into my classroom and get startled seeing a body sitting in my desk chair but smile noticing it's Scarlett.

"Hi!" I say walking over to my desk.

"Hey, hope you don't mind I waited in here for ya." She tells me.

"Not at all. A pleasant surprise. Thank you again for today. It was so nice to see the kids happy and running a muck around the yards."

"It's my pleasure. You're really cute when you're happy and I want to see that as much as possible."

Oh my god did she just say I'm cuuuute!? ASDFHDKL!!! AHHHH!!

"I..well..you know..." I laugh unable to think far enough to even form a sentence.

"See..so. Cute!" Scarlett stands and starts to walk towards me.

Every step towards me feels like an animal stalking its prey. Her eyes darken each step and her lips curl up into a smile that makes my inside get all squirmy and nervous. She walks right up to me and stops, we are practically the same height, with me being slightly taller so I look right into her eyes.
