Greys dinner party

Chapter 5

Link huffed as he saw his girlfriend face.
"Link please just let me explain" Amelia begged feeling awful about him finding out like this
"When it comes to babies, you are the craziest person, I ever met!" Link  yelled in his anger.

"Hey!", Alex and Owen, who were the only ones beside him to know about the neurosurgeon's first born, shouted at the same time.

"What? Why are you reacting like this, guys? Didn't she tell all of you about her brainless baby in LA?", Link wanted to know, realizing he had just exposed yet another secret of his girlfriend. "See, the only thing you do about your children is lying."

"You better shut the fuck up, before I rip you apart with my bare hand" Tom threatened as he saw Amelia beginning to have tears run down her face. Before rushing out of the house. As Meredith, Maggie, and Owen followed her out of the house.
"Amelia stop please" Maggie begged before Meredith spoke
"There's no sense in running, nobody is judging  you for what happened to your son, we promise" she held her sister in her arms letting the tears stream further down her face as she began to break down further
"Did you know" Maggie whispered to her sister ex husband
" I knew about her son, but not the cause of his death" he sadly answered as he watched the love of his life breaking down. She pulled away from her sisters arms before speaking again, in a hiccupy and mumbling tone
"I have never been so rude to anyone. Why does everyone hate me?"
"Nobody hates you!" Meredith  promised, gently stroking her sister's  back. "What Link just did was horrible and he had no right to talk to you like that."

"Maybe I deserved it.", the neurosurgeon shrugged, hiding her face in her hands

"You didn't, Amelia! Please don't ever believe that!" Owen begged. "He thought it was his baby, so he has the right to be sad, yes. But nothing can justify his decision to tell everyone about Christopher."

"You remember his name...", Amelia noticed, she was touched. She was still hiding from the whole universe in her hands . Meredith and Maggie  looked at the two of them and realized that their sister was already with the only person who could help her right now.
"We're going back inside if you need us, to beat him up, you know" they chuckled lightly before hugging their sister again.
As the duo was left alone Owen moved to capture his love in his arms to comfort her further. She laid her head against his chest while he stroked her back lightly.
"I can't believe we are having a baby"
"Me either" she looked up at him lovingly before placing his hand on her baby bump.
"I want to be with you, Amelia.I know you are still with him and I don't want to and will not pressure you into breaking up, but I just want you to know, that I still love you."

"We don't work, Owen.We never did and we never will." She spoke as he still caressed her bump

"We can make us work! There is nothing standing in our way, babe." Owen spoke desperately, shocking both of them with the nickname that had disappeared years ago.

"Tonight is not the right time to discuss this, Owen."Amelia let her ex-husband know but she felt even more hopeful than she did before.

While back in side, everyone stood watching Atticus with a pissed off look waiting for him to explain his fucked up choice of behavior

"I know theirs no excuse for the behavior I exhibited tonight,I just want to talk to Amelia. It's between her and me."

"No, you don't get to-" Tom angrily started as he felt a feminine hand on his shoulder

"It's okay Tom, thank you!", Amelia said before interrupting him and smiled at her friend whose  had been nothing but a support to her for the whole evening. "Whatever you want to say, say it front of them all by looking into my eyes, just like you did earlier when you decided you had the right to tell everyone about my dead son."

"Amelia...", Owen wanted to stop her, knowing she would end up even more heartbroken.

"Please give me this chance, Owen.", Atticus pleaded, knowing he had lost his girlfriend to her ex husband and at least wanting to make things right.

"You should probably hold her hand anyway."Carina recommended to the redhead, who was somehow pleased with the ex-couple making its way back to each other.

"You don't have to.", Link cleared his throat in jealousy, so the trauma surgeon decided to grant him respect for once and just remained standing behind his ex-wife in comfort.

"Are you going to apologize now, or do we need to kick your ass?"Alex pestered the ortho surgeon, as he was still really angry with him for hurting his sister like that.

"I am sorry for what I did to you, Amelia. I had, like you said, no right to expose your past just like that. It is such a sensitive topic to you, I know that, but in my anger and frustration I forgot. I was hoping to raise our little peanut with you and when the baby turned out to be Owen's, my heart broke. I couldn't think anymore. I can't think right now, having seen the two of you so close outside and knowing you will choose him, now that he confessed his true feelings to you. The future I expected us to have was just ripped from me. So please, at least accept my apology. You know I am not a monster."

"I do. Of course, I do, Link and I am so sorry for hurting you like that, but I really didn't know. I don't want to keep you on the edge, so I will simply confirm your assumption. You are a great guy, seriously! Any woman would be happy to be with you, because you are kind, funny, supportive, amazing and many more things. But I am not any woman. And there is just one man for me in this life. The one, I am meant to be with. And you are not him. I wish you would comment on this with telling me that you cheated or anything to not end up in so much pain, but I can't give you this kid. It does have a father that wants and loves her already."
"I know Amelia and it's fine but it's going to take me awhile to get used to you too. So, If you and Owen could wait with your first kiss until I left? That would be great. Because no matter what you think now, I am truly in love with you. And I know that you didn't lie either by saying you love me, but I never had a chance against the man you claim to be meant to be with."Link honestly responded before leaving the house in heartbreak. The rest of the evening ended on a postiver note than it started  out on.
