ASHLEY POV

The sun beamed through the window, causing Ashley to stir from her sleep. As she opened her eyes, she found herself in a familiar bedroom. However, it wasn't hers. Sunlight was filtering through the large windows of Megan's penthouse bedroom, casting a warm glow on the luxurious surroundings. As she tried to sit up, her head throbbed even more. She reached for the glass of water on the nightstand, taking small sips to soothe her parched throat. Confusion set in as she tried to recall how she ended up here. And then it hit her- she was at Megan's penthouse.

Ashley's mind raced as she tried to piece together the events from the previous night. She remembered going out with her friends and seeing Megan, but after a few too many shots, things became a blur.

She looked over and saw Megan lying beside her, still sound asleep. A rush of emotions flooded through Ashley as she watched her. There was still a strong desire and love there, but also a sense of sadness and regret.

Ashley quietly got out of bed, trying not to disturb Megan's sleep. She wandered around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. This was the first time she had been back to Megan's penthouse since she ended things. A flood of memories and emotions resurfaced, making her headache worse.

Feeling overwhelmed, Ashley quickly got dressed and headed towards the door. As she reached for the handle, she hesitated. Should she leave without saying goodbye? Before she could make a decision, Megan stirred in her sleep and called out her name.

'Leaving so soon, professor?' Megan's sleepy voice sent shivers down Ashley's spine. She turned to face her, unable to come up with any excuses.

Ashley froze, unsure of what to say. She turned around to face Megan, her heart beating faster with each passing second. Megan sat up in bed and looked at Ashley with a mixture of surprise and sadness.

'I...I should go. I'm sorry,' she stammered, her heart racing.

Megan slowly got out of bed, wrapping a silky robe around her naked body. She walked towards Ashley with a serious look on her face.

'Why did you come back to me, Ashley? You made it clear that you never wanted to see me again,' Megan said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Ashley hung her head, unable to meet Megan's gaze. She knew she had hurt her, and she didn't have an explanation for why she had let things between them escalate again.

'I...I don't know. I was drunk, and I missed you. But I shouldn't have come here. I'm sorry,' she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

'I missed you too, Ashley. But you can't come back to me and then leave. It hurts too much,' she said, her voice thick with emotion.

Ashley couldn't believe how much Megan's words affected her. She had always been the one in control, the one who didn't let emotions get in the way. But seeing how much she had hurt Megan, she realized how out of control she was in this situation.

'I'm sorry, Megan. I'll make it up to you, I promise,' she said, her voice filled with determination.

'I know you said we shouldn't see each other anymore, but I couldn't resist having you here with me, even if it was just for one night,' Megan said, her gaze intense and pleading.

Megan's expression softened, she walked back to the bed and sat down, patting the space beside her on the bed. 'Come here, let's talk.'

Reluctantly, Ashley sat down next to Megan, their legs touching. She couldn't resist the familiar warmth and comfort of being close to her. Megan took her hand and looked into her eyes.

'I know we shouldn't be doing this but I missed you, Ash,' Megan said, her voice filled with emotion.

Ashley's heart ached at Megan's words. She had missed her too, but she didn't know how to make things right between them. She had made the decision to end their relationship because she thought it was for the best, but now she wasn't so sure.

'I missed you too, Megan. But we both know our relationship was complicated. Maybe it's better if we move on,' Ashley said, trying to keep her voice steady.

Megan's face fell and she looked down at their intertwined hands. 'I understand where you are coming from but I am not giving up on us. I love you Ashley and I want to be with you.'

'I...I can't do this,' Ashley stammered, not knowing what else to say.

Megan's expression turned to anger. 'You can't just come here, sleep with me, and then try to sneak out like it meant nothing!' she said.

Ashley felt tears welling up in her eyes. 'I'm sorry, Megan. I can't keep hurting you like this. I have to go,' she said.

As much as she loved Megan, she also knew that being with her was wrong, and could potentially damage both their lives. She turned to leave, but Megan was still holding her hand.

'Stay, Ashley. Just for a little while longer,' Megan pleaded, her voice soft.

Ashley hesitated for a moment, torn between her love for Megan and the reality of their situation. Ashley knew that she had to leave before things got even more complicated. 'I have to go, Megan. I'm sorry,' she whispered.

Megan's face fell once again, and this time, Ashley couldn't bear to see it. She quickly left her heart heavy with conflicting emotions.

But before she could reach the front door, she felt Megan's soft hand on her shoulder, stopping her in her tracks. 'Just one last time, please,' Megan begged, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ashley turned to face her, and in that moment, all her resolve crumbled. She knew it was a mistake, that it would only complicate things even further. But as Megan's lips met hers, she couldn't help but lose herself in the moment.

Their kisses grew more heated and passionate as they fell onto the couch. Their hands explored each other's bodies, and for that brief moment, nothing else existed but the two of them. They were lost in a world of their own, where their love was accepted and celebrated.
