Charlie's P.O.V
"Charlie! Your test is coming up according to your instructor" Charlie's Mom calls from the kitchen."I know mom, they told me. I don't think I am ready" Charlie says with a sigh as his mom enters the dining room.
Charlie's mom always gave off a kind vibe, she has medium length brown hair and smiles lines etched into her face, her brown eyes were always warm.
She had always been a great mom to Charlie and to Nathan whenever he needed one. She really liked Nathan."You'll do great sweetie! You've been practicing just work on that parallel parking more and you'll have it down!" She says, clutching Charlie shoulders.
"Yeah, I hope so... I better be going" Charlie says, glancing down at his watch.
"Okay sweets, have a great day! Remember don't stay out past curfew at Nathan's concert." She says, smiling and stepping back so he can stand up.
"I won't mom, love you!" He says, kissing her on the cheek and grabbing his backpack.
Later At School:
"Do you have a T-Shirt I could wear?" Charlie asks.
"A T-Shirt? What do you mean?" Nathan says, turning to Charlie.
"Like to your concert, I could wear your bands logo on a shirt" Charlie explains.
"We don't have a logo" Nathan says with a laugh.
"You don't have a logo!?" Charlie says with surprise.
"Nah, we never bothered to make one" Nathan explains.
"Do you at least have colors?" Charlie asks, stopping out side of Nathan's classroom.
"Red and black?" Nathan says, his shoulders rising and falling in a shrug.
"Okay, see you tonight!" Charlie says, waving goodbye to Nathan.
"See him tonight!? Oh you finally gave into him?" The familiar voice of Kelsey calls out.
Charlie takes a deep breath and turns to face the girl.
"What do you want Kelsey." He snarls.
"Oh just you," she purrs, stepping closer and running one finger down his chest.
"Stop." He says, grappling her finger and pushing it away.
His body shivers uncomfortably.
"Go away Kelsey" He says, grinding his teeth.
"Oh what's wrong, are you scared? Do I make you nervous?" She says, approaching him once more.
"No. Definitely not" Charlie says coldly, turning away from Kelsey.
That Night:
"MC's, MC's, MC's!" A voice shouts from the crowd.
"Nathan look at me!" Another voice shouts from next to Charlie.
A girl was standing there, waving her hands wildly.
Charlie spots Nathan look up from his guitar and gives the girl a smile. Her yelling quickly gets louder.Charlie rolls his eyes, and wonders how the people in the crowd would react to knowing how close Charlie was to Nathan.
If only you knew
What me and her knew
You wouldn't be smiling
Look me in the eyes
And tell me you don't want
You and her to existCharlie was suprised how good the lyrics were. The band wrote them themselves, maybe Nathan had wrote part of this song. But who would it be about?
He was thinking to much into this
I see you smiling in the crowd
I see the glances you shoot her
Find me at the end of the show
Tell me the truthCharlie's eyes never left the blond on the stage. His movements were mesmerizing, the strums and the way he was shuffling on the stage. Charlie could tell how much Nathan loved to play, he was clearly trying to suppress a smile. The lights hit his eyes making his eyes glint purple and red.
The song was over and Charlie had been singing with the crowd around him. Of course he knew the lyrics, he always had since he got to hear them first after the band of course.
The venue where Nathan's the band (the MC's) were playing was small and packed to the rim. Reggie had clearly got the word around. Charlie was only a few people away from the stage so he could see Nathan well.
I see the way she looks
A new song had started, Charlie listened intently. He didn't think he'd heard this one before.
Looks at you but you don't look back
You look at me
You look at me
And I'll look backCharlie tilts his head in confusion, were these lyrics about what he thought. He didn't now Reggie was bi, that's cool. Charlie could definitely get that vibe.
She's not important anymore
You look at me and
I'll look at you
This isn't what's normal
But it's what's happeningCharlie had really thought Reggie had liked Kelsey, but this was a relief, Kelsey was a bitch and he definitely preferred some random boy to her any day.
Wait no, Nicholas was the one who liked Kelsey. Not Reggie luckily.
Charlie spots Nathan looking at him, apparently this part of the song didn't need guitar. His eyes glinted in the odd lighting. A smile was plastered onto his face and Charlie smiled back.
