Nathan's P.O.V:
"Now, I hope you all are aware we have parent teacher conferences tonight. Please dress formal and bring your school binder:" Says Mrs. Jackson, clapping her hands.

"Class dismissed and don't be late!" She yells as the bell rings.

"Your coming over right? So we can give you a ride?" A voice asks, from behind Nathan.

Nathan turns to see Charlie, once again fidgeting with his chain.

"Yeah, I brought my suit and everything" Nathan responds with a grin.

He holds up the bag which held his formal clothes.

"Great!" Charlie says, excitedly.

"You ready for the game?" Nathan asks, starting to walk down the hallway.

"Yeah, I think I'm ready" Charlie says, with a sigh.

"I brought a foam finger"  Nathan says with a laugh.

"No, do not bring that" Charlie laughs.

"Fine, got any team colors?" Nathan asks with a fake huff.

"Blue and purple I think" Charlie says, shrugging.

"Perfect, see you tonight." Nathan nods, waving as he walks away to his class.

That night...

Nathan was sitting on Charlie's bed in his suit waiting for Charlie to help him knot his tie.

"Hey Nathan, like the suit?" Charlie asks, stepping into the room and holding out his arms.

He was wearing a classic black suit but his jacket was resting folded on his arm, he had a vest and tie on. Nathan couldn't help but blush as Charlie smiled at him. The other boy looked stunning.

"I love it" Nathan says.

"Thanks, want me to help with your tie now?" Charlie asks, sitting next to Nathan.

"That'd be great"

"Okay, Watch what I do so you can learn how" Charlie says, as he starts to knot the tie.

A minute passes as Charlie fidgets with the tie, adjusting it and once re-tying it.

"Great, let me check it's tied correctly" Charlie says.

"How do you-"

Charlie pulls on the tie making Nathan lurch forward, and almost smash into Charlie's face.

"How was that checking it!?" Nathan laughs, blushing profusely.

"The tie would have undone if I didn't tie it right" Charlie explains.

"I don't think that's how it works." Nathan giggles, standing up from the bed.

"Whatever, you ready?" Charlie asks, standing up with Nathan.

"Yes"

Later that night, at the Hockey game...

The crowd was surprisingly big at the hockey game, lots a family members and other kids were filling the small stadium to watch Snoqualmie and Shorefield high school play.

Nathan was at the game alone, stuffed in between two dads who were screaming words of encouragement at the kids playing (probably their sons).

Nathan had joined in on the screaming many times for Charlie, who was doing amazing on the ice. Not that Nathan knew what amazing would look like. But the crowds seemed to like Charlie.

Nathan couldn't help but notice how hot Charlie looked playing hockey, he was clearly exhausted but he was making it work.

Nathan started to scream louder when Charlie hit the puck close to the opposite team's goal.

It was called a goal right?

He had only ever played soccer in his life and ping pong. He wasn't much for sports and they had costed his family money they didn't have. He had his guitar because he had bought it, he'd saved up for years.

Nathan clutched the flowers he'd bought for Charlie closer so they wouldn't get squished. He hoped his school would win this game so Nathan wouldn't have to give Charlie flowers for loosing.

Maybe it was a bad decision to buy the other boy flowers, especially with all the rumors of Charlie and Nathan being gay for each other. But Nathan didn't care much, of course the rumors affected him, but still he didn't care. Charlie wasn't getting hurt, so Nathan didn't mind.

"Wooooo, yeah!" The man next to Nathan yells, making him jump.

"That's it! Just a little closer!" The other dad calls.

Nathan resists the urge to cover his ears and focuses in on the game. Charlie was skitting across the ice puck in front of him. Dylan was waiting by the goal to be passed to.

"Go Snoqualmie!" Nathan shouts.

Charlie hits the puck to Dylan and Dylan slams it past the goalie into the netted goal.

"Yes!" The dads on each side of Nathan shout in unison.

The buzzer goes off, marking the ending of the game.
Nathan let's out a sigh and collapses into his seat. On the ice Charlie is celebrating with his team. He pulls off his helmet and calls something to a team mate excitedly.

Nathan slowly files out of his seat and wraps around the rink to find where Charlie would exit. He was suddenly feeling embarrassed about bringing flowers. Who brought fucking flowers to a hockey game? Nathan glances around and spots a trash can, with a sigh he shoves the flowers into it.

"Nathan!" A voice calls from behind him.

He turns to see Charlie, hurriedly taking off his gear.

"Good job! You won!" Nathan says, shooting a grin at his friend.

"I did! Did you like watching?" Charlie asks, taking his shin guards and other gear Nathan couldn't recognize into a pile in his arms.

"Yeah, I didn't quite get it all but it was fun!" Nathan says, following Charlie into a room that read lacker room.

Wait no. Locker room. Sometimes Nathan couldn't read well. And A's and O's looked the same. But so did B's and Q's. Nathan sighs internally and turns his gaze back to Charlie.

"Ready to go? My Mom's picking us up. You can stay over if you'd like, I know it's hard with Estelle." Charlie says, shooting Nathan a sad looked.

A imagine of Nathan's mom pops into his head and he shivers. He definitely did not want to go home. But his mom wouldn't allow a last minute sleepover, especially with Charlie. She always hated the friends who were actually good to Nathan.

"Yeah I'm ready. But I cant stay over, I wont be allowed. Thanks for asking though." Nathan sighs, trialing after Charlie to the parking lot.

"Okay, I'm sorry." Charlie nods, patting Nathan on the back.

"No, it's fine." Nathan laughs awkwardly.

Charlie shoots him a sympathetic look and nods once more.
