It was the weekend which means usually Miss Liz gives us a not so hard practice at gymnastics but for Miss Casey she made it harder.
"Alright, I'm going to be honest and tell you that last practice you weren't so good on bars or much of any of the events so I'm going to give you a hard practice of conditioning." Miss Casey said.
Wow she's nice I thought, that was my first day! I didn't complain though thinking she probably would think I'm not ready for the academy so I bit my lip and got ready for long day of conditioning.
That practice was the worst practice of my life. Miss Casey made conditioning so hard I thought I was going to pass out or puke by the end of practice. My whole body ached I could barely move and I desperately needed a shower and some food but I didn't dare tell Miss Casey she would be so angry with me and tell me I'm not ready for the academy.
"Alright now get used to those practices because at Lorain's the conditioning is always like that. Now keep practicing those tricks. " Miss Casey said at the end of practice.
I practically ran out of the gym. Jackie walked up to me and said,"That looked dreadful I felt so bad just looking at you."
"On trust me it was." I said slipping into a jacket and just keeping on my gymnastics shorts because I was to tired and hot to put on my yoga pants.
I turned around texting my mom to ask if she was here when I saw my dad. Normally he was at work and never picked me up from gymnastics so this was surprising.
"Dad!" I yelled running to him. I was even more excited to see him when I saw Starbucks in his hand.
"Hey sweetie, this is for you." He said handing me a Vanilla Bean frappe with Java chips and a tomato basil panini.
"Thanks," I said gladly accepting the frappe and panini,"I am starving!"
He laughed,"I figured."
"So why aren't you at work?" I asked.
He looked uncomfortable at this question,"I got the day off." He said.
"Oh." I said. Something felt off though.
"So do you want to do something special?" My dad asked.
"Sure!" I happily said.
After I gobbled up my Starbucks we decided to go to the movies. We ended up seeing Pitch Perfect 2 which was hilarious. When we got home my dad informed me that we were going out to dinner today also after my mom got home I didn't know where she went but my dad wouldn't tell me.

A little later she got home and we headed out to dinner. At dinner my parents were acting strange I didn't know why though.
Finally I asked," What's wrong?"
"Nothing." My mother said.
"What's wrong!" I demanded.
"We have to tell her!" My mother hissed to my father.
"Tell me what!"
My father looked very uncomfortable.
"Fine you want to know?" He said angry at me,"I got laid off from work today!" He yelled and left the table.
My mother had her face in her hands. I was shocked and I started to cry.
"We wanted to give you a nice day before we told you." My mother said shaky with tears in her eyes.
"Why?" I said crying.
"Because we knew how bad you wanted to go to the academy."
I hadn't even thought about the academy but now it struck me. I cried even harder.
"We knew your father was going to get laid off but we didn't know it was today so I have been searching for a job."

Short chapter but I thought it was good because now you know why her parents didn't want her to go to the academy. I promise I will write longer chapters in the future!!
