[____] [tissue box just in case....I TRIED MY BEST TO DRAW IT IN HERE]........
As the 11-year-old Bangchan sat alone in his room, his gaze fixed on the ceiling, he felt a strange sense of solace. Time seemed to fly as he pondered the impending move to Australia. A few days before bangchan's biggest concern was his homework now it was his best friend Minho. He ached at the thought of leaving him and the thought of missing those rare but precious smiles that made his day complete.
The memories of their adventures and laughter seemed to linger in the air, a bittersweet melody that filled Chan's heart with bittersweet emotion. He knew that parting ways would mean leaving behind a significant piece of his happiness, and the thought of saying goodbye to Minho felt like saying goodbye to a part of himself.
Bangchan's contemplation was interrupted by the soft, caring presence of his mother, whose gentle smile and concerned expression indicated that she had sensed something was amiss. Her eyes, filled with a mother's intuition, fixed upon his lost and sorrowful face as if trying to uncover the source of his sadness.
As Bangchan remained absorbed in his thoughts, his mother leaned downwards, her lips gently brushing against his cheek in a tender kiss. Her loving touch acted as a gentle nudge, bringing him out of his reverie and grounding him in the present moment. She repeated her question, her voice filled with care and concern, "Wanna talk about it, Chan?"
As Bangchan buried his face in his mother's chest, tears streamed down his cheeks in an uncontrollable flow, his small frame trembling with the weight of his cries. With a tender touch, his mother gently patted his back and whispered sweet, comforting words into his ears, creating a safe and soothing space for him to express his feelings. The room echoed with the sound of Chan's heartfelt sobbing mingled with his mother's soothing whispers like a gentle lullaby, their mother-son bond growing even stronger through this shared moment of vulnerability.
Bangchan's cries intensified, his voice barely audible and difficult to decipher between the gasps and tears. A torrent of incoherent pleas spilled out of his lips. His words spoke of his desperation to stay behind, his heart overwhelmed with the thought of leaving. "I don't want to go," he wept, "Please, let us stay here a little longer." He even suggested, "Can Dad just go instead? Maybe I could stay?"
A new wave of terror washed over Bangchan as he sat up abruptly, the realization hitting him. "A-a-and what if Minho forgets me?" he gasped, his once tear-streaked face now contorted with panic. Fresh tears welled up in his eyes, cascading down his cheeks in a ceaseless stream, as he wrestled with the fear of being left behind and forgotten by his closest friend.
With a sense of purpose, his mother rose hastily and hurried to her room. She rummaged through her nearly empty cupboard, pulling out a beautiful wooden box adorned with cosmic colors and tiny stars, its small keyhole beckoning. Returning to Bangchan's room, she sat near him, revealing the contents of the box—two bracelets, distinctly not for children, crafted with metal and crystal stars and beads. In the center of each, a half of a key dangled. When brought together, the keys would click into place, creating a soft, beautiful metallic clink.
Bangchan's expression instantly transformed from tears to joy as he examined the bracelets, a wide smile spreading across his face. The quality of the bracelets impressed him, and he carefully placed them on his bedside table before embracing his mother with a heartfelt, "I love you, Mom. Thank you." In response, his mother reciprocated with warmth, tucking him in and gently stroking his hair as she hummed a soothing lullaby. The pats on his head and the melodic hum slowly lulled Banchan into a peaceful slumber, enveloped in the comforting embrace of love and security.
