Chapter 1 - Cowards

"There's always a happy ending!" Kins shouted at the ending of the movie, which was quite gross for me. It ended with a kiss, Nathan and I never kissed but that doesn't mean I don't love him. I loved him even when I pushed him away, I loved him even when I asked for a break, I loved him even when he chose to not tell me about everything. I looked at my mother and she smiled brightly, seeing her daughter spending family time seemed too much for her but I doubt this is family time. We are not we anymore, I don't know what happened to Anderson's family. "Time to sleep, sweethearts" Mother spoke, Kins definitely wanted to watch another movie but I stood up and that was it. End of everything, Galen will do what I will and the majority wins. She rolled her eyes and walked away and so did I. I entered my room and laid down, It's been one year, one fucking year without him. My father, he wouldn't have been so happy to see me like this. What a mess, I am. I took a break from college and ... And what not, I distanced myself from the only person I loved, Nath. He kept trying to meet me for three months but I never replied, I am just like him, a coward. I had no reason to not see him but I was mad, They didn't tell me what they knew.

I woke up with Galen saying "Wake up, pack your bag" I nodded, I had no intention of talking, what was I supposed to talk about? It's not new, Terrible things happening are not new. I stood up, had a warm bath and went downstairs with my bags. I walked towards Galen and kins, I looked at him and asked "Where are we going and why?" Galen looked at me and he wasn't very happy because he was facing what I wasn't. Rumours, being well-known means when you'll have your downfall, they'll make their way to you. "Grandparent's because kins and I couldn't stay here anymore." I nodded. My mother came down with her bags and we entered a car, The entire journey was quiet.

As our home came into view, I sighed. This was definitely the last place, I wanted to visit without all Anderson's. I got out of the car and smiled at my grandma and grandpa. My mother went straight towards them and kept smiling, it has been so long since I saw her with that smile. I walked towards the lake that was in front of our house, I looked at it and thought, how I grew up here or How will I grow up here? "You look exactly like him." My grandpa spoke, standing beside me but I don't agree with the thing he said. "I don't." I said immediately after his statement. He chuckled softly and nodded "Right, You don't. You are Cassia. My cassia" He said with so much love, I'm afraid that he will wake up the sia I left. We looked back at the house, everyone was in, Grandpa and I joined them as well. I looked at everyone, they were having their food, I sat down and started eating mine as well. After a few seconds Grandma spoke "Do you know Sia, There's a young guy here, he just came here like a week ago, he's so nice, he'll look good with you" I raised my brows and shrugged it off. I can't even imagine myself with someone else, Nath was always the only one for me. I was already done eating my food so I stood up and smiled "Im going for a walk" I said and started walking away, I heard Galen say that he'll join me and he did. He started walking by my side, I silently linked my arm with his and walked towards a bench. I sat down with him and rested my head on his shoulders. I was just about to ask him something when we saw kins running towards us, she was breathing heavily, she sat down next to us and growled "You two walk too fast."

We were here for I don't know how many hours but we were still here. "Hi I'm E-" A guy was cutted off by Galen "The reason?" I looked at the owner of the voice, He seemed a bit startled by lenny's behaviour but He respawned quickly and replied "Your grandparents are looking for you." He said with a smile, Galen stood up and started walking. I looked at Mr.E and smiled "Thank you Mr.E" I said and joined Galen, Kins stayed behind for a few minutes, seemed like she was introducing herself to Mr E. Soon she joined us and I think I wished Nath was here, this place seems too much to bear without the people you love. I slowed my steps and looked at Lenny and kins, Kins kept saying things Lenny was least interested in but he was listening. I smiled at the view and perhaps, This is what I should've been doing. Instead of being depressed about a coward who ran away, my duty as the eldest child, starts from today onwards.

We entered the house and saw my grandmother and Mother doing the dishes, It was awkward now, I didn't even know how to talk with them. Galen spoke "Rooms?" Thankgod, I couldn't stay here anymore now, it was...weird? Grandma nodded and laughed "Oh my, I almost forgot, you must've been tired. Let's go" She said and started walking away and we followed her, she took us upstairs, she looked at me and smiled. "It's your room, sia." It wasn't. This wasn't my room. "Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that room was mine" I said pointing towards a room, Galen already entered in. She smiled "This room has always belonged to the eldest child, dear." She said immediately but I wasn't, I wasn't the fucking eldest child! No matter how much I acted like one, this belonged to Lon. However, I was too tired to even fight now so I nodded and entered the room and guess what? everything, every little thing was changed. There were no pictures of Marlon, why? Why was Anderson's always like this? I laid down on the bed and sighed, It felt familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Only if Marlon was here.

I stood up and glanced at every little thing slowly yet steadily, I wasn't ready to leave the past behind, not yet. I looked outside the window and sighed as cold Breeze flew my hairs behind. What was I missing? Miss me when you feel like something is missing What was missing? Marlon? He must've hidden something but where? I looked over the lake trying to find the missing pieces, He used the code..he must've used another one. What were all the codes?

I chuckled softly, He finally used it.

I looked at the bed and walked towards it. I took a deep breath and kneeled down. I am right, I had to be right. I looked under the bed... A smirk spread across my face. I was right. There was a loosen tile seemed like grandparents saw it but didn't bothered to take it out. He knew our grandpa cares the least about things such as this. I only need the tools now, chisel or hammer. Where can I find them? The basement? Probably there, I walked down stairs and started looking through all the doors, checking the possibilities of where must be the basement. It wasn't where it used to be or in easy words, it was locked. I walked outside the house, we had another door to walk inside the basement. I took a quick scroll first infront of the house and then the backyard, there was no door. They closed it. I sighed and sat down on the grass. I closed my eyes, leaning against the wall, I was at the backyard so pretty sure no one will come here...that's what I thought.

"I'm Elea" A girl spoke sitting next to me, I raised my brows but I didn't look at her. "The reason?" I said with my eyes closed. She didn't say anything for a few seconds but chuckled soon after I opened my eyes and looked at her, she smiled like she knew me since ages "I'm marlon's girlfriend." She said with so much confidence but I can't buy that, can I? Marlon would've told me, He always told me whatever happened with him and this was something huge "He didn't tell anyone about us but He told me that one day you'll come here. Looking for tools, are you here from them?" Yes, I buy that now. She's not lying. "Chisel" that was all I said, she quickly got up and went away to look for it, fuck you Marlon.
