5. a bottle of wine...?

"it's... you...?" you ask, confused. venti just smiled at you as he kept shooting anemo infused bows to the hilichurls.

you tried to get up but stop with venti's voice.

"hey, what are you doing?! don't you dare get up, your foot is hurt...!"

so you decided to stop. you knew you wouldn't be able to get up, even if you wanted anyway. there was no reason in pushing yourself, especially after his words. you sat there and waited for all the hilichurls to die.

after shooting the last hilichurl, venti rushed near you.

"are you alright? ugh, what am i saying, of course you're not... here, let me help." he lifted you up in his arms and started to carry you back to the mondstadt gates.

"it happened after yesterday, right? why didn't you say anything? or at least stop after you realized your foot was hurting? you don't have to finish your commissions, you know..." he asks, looking worried.

"well... i do need the money from the commissions... i can rely on diluc for some time but he's gonna get annoyed... he...- never mind. can you bring me to the katheryne, if it's not too much trouble...? i need to take my commission rewards... just if it's not too much trouble though, i still owe you so much...!!" you say, being a little embarrassed. coming to mondstadt wasn't easy, especially when you-... forget it.

"of course...! though, you can talk to me, you know? i can see you hiding stuff, it's too obvious, but i don't understand what you're hiding. just wanted to let you know that you can talk to me."

"i understand it's just... not really easy to talk."

the rest of the way was quiet until you reached the adventurers guild.

"you can let me down now. i think i'll be fine..."

"are you sure?"

you nod. he then slowly lifts you down. your foot was still hurting but you decided to swallow the pain. you walked up to the katheryne and got your commission rewards. you walked back up to venti.

"thank you for everything, venti. i promise to repay you as soon as i can...!"

"oh, you don't have to...! i can assure you, i did it because i wanted to! buuut, i can't deny a bottle of wine would be great!"

"a bottle of wine...?"

"hahaha!! why are you so shocked?"

"i mean you came to the angel's share just yesterday...?"

"who cares? wine tastes great!!"

"alright... if you insist!! to the angel's share we go...!"

he chuckled as he rushed to the angel's share. you followed him with a gentle smile. your foot was still hurting but you were completely ignoring it right now. venti seemed like a 5 year on the shop who got happy that he could buy chocolate. so cute...

you both got into angel's share. it was diluc's shift.

"ah, diluc...!" you said. venti sat down in front of diluc.
