It was a pleasant Saturday morning in the (L/N) household. Her siblings were still out of town for the weekend, so her mother woke up early to make the two of them breakfast.
They were eating breakfast by the counter when they heard the doorbell ring. They looked at each other before her mother went to answer the door. She opened the door and gasped excitedly, making (Y/N) get up from her stool and walk to the door.
She wasn't expecting to see the spotted hat boy and a lanky blonde next to him on her doorstep this morning. Law looked like he had just woken up and seen a forest fire while the tall blonde looked like he was having a joyous time.
"Hello there! Sorry to disturb you lovely people but we made a gift to welcome you to town and introduce ourselves!" The blonde said delightedly. (Y/N)'s mother invited them in and immediately started to talk like they had been best friends forever. (Y/N) was able to catch his name, Corazon, over the endless talking.
"Oh (Y/N) sweetie, why don't you show our neighbors your at-home studio!" Wait, neighbors? Had they really been next door this whole time and she never noticed? She has a class with Law and has never seen him outside. Or so she thought. (Y/N) walked to the door with everyone trailing behind, and opened it, letting everyone fill the room.
Corazon was staring in awe while Law was in the corner looking like he'd rather be anywhere but here. "You know, Law over here used to play guitar, yeah?" He looked over at the boy who just looked to the side, a bit annoyed that this got brought up again in front of the girl.
"Yeah, but I wouldn't be any good now. Haven't played for years remember?" The girl shook her head at this statement, still not wanting to ask further questions on the matter since it seemed to make him uncomfortable.
Once the two adults left the room, (Y/N) tried to make conversation while Law looked around the room some more. "Soo...what's the gift you guys brought? Is it the reason why you look like you've been to hell and back?" He looked up and saw the (h/c)-colored girl giggle to herself and he had to admit that her comment made him want to chuckle, if not for the trauma-inducing flashbacks to this morning when Corazon almost burned down their house for the millionth time.
"We tried to make cookies, but I'm not sure how they turned out..."
"I'm sure they turned out lovely! Let's go see them," She walked out of the room and Law followed behind her. Corazon and her mother seemed to be in the other room, talking very loudly he might add. (Y/N) walked towards the box and opened it up. Inside were some "smokey" cookies, looking on the verge of crumbling.
They weren't the best-looking cookies but it was the thought behind them that (Y/N) felt grateful to receive them. She thanked the black-haired while he stared a bit confused because he knew for sure she wasn't thanking him for burnt cookies.
He was going to ask about the state of the cookies but the two adults returned to the room. They had to get going to clean the mess back home. The fire that almost burnt everything to the ground mess at home. They said their goodbyes and her mother looked back at them before heading inside.
"They were nice fellows weren't they!" she asked (Y/N). She nodded her head and went with her normal Saturday routine of doing nothing, a bit of school work, and songwork here and there. She also told herself shed try to be more observant from now on since it was a bit embarrassing that she ignored her neighbor for months.

The next day was more work than the easy-going day yesterday. There was one cookie left in the box from the welcoming gift when (Y/N) got up that morning. She was heading to her studio to get ready for rehearsal happening later in the morning. She got to practice a couple of tunes and warmed her voice up while she waited for the time to come.
Just as she was about to get her guitar out, the door opened and in came Zoro, Sanji, and Kid. They quickly got set up in their places, waiting for what new ideas the girl at the from of the room had come up with.
"So I was thinking for the last couple of songs to have more drums and electric guitar instead of the regular country twang," (Y/N) started. She shared the lyrics she was thinking for one of the particular songs. She thought they were good, but she couldn't come up with a good title that felt right. "I was thinking that it could be something to do with being with someone else since that's what it talks about, but I'm not sure what."
"How about 'True Feelings'" Zoro suggested.
"To corny moss head. How about 'Only You'"
"It's a good start but still doesn't feel right." (Y/N) was looking over the lyrics again. What words can go together that won't make it sound corny, but also clear to the meaning?
"'I'm Only Me When I'm With You'? It's a bit wordy but long titles here and there won't hurt I don't think," Kid suggested. It was the last line of the chorus, but it didn't sound too bad. She kinda liked the long title and she could live with it being that long. She could always abbreviate it at shows.
"I think that's a good one. I can stick with it!" The other members nodded their heads, kind of just following the girl since they didn't know anything about songwriting. And so they played through the more guitar-based song and it sounded nice and catchy.
The last couple of songs already had titles, lyrics, and notes written so all they had to do was record and edit. They continued recording until the 14-song album was done.
"That was great work guys! I'm excited to edit and show everyone the final piece and publish it! It should be ready around winter break!" (Y/N) was seeing the boys out after a long day of rehearsal plus a lunch break prepared by her mom.
As they were leaving, another car pulled into the driveway. (Y/N) recognized this car immediately and called her mom to the front of the house. Two strangers got out, one had light blue hair while the other had bright pink hair.
"Guess who's back from hell!" The pink-haired man shouted unassumingly.
"Oh don't say that! I think it was quite fun seeing the different towns," the blue-haired woman responded. She seemed to be more cheerful than the sarcastic guy. (Y/N) went up to hug the woman and only waved at the man.
"I didn't expect you kiddos to get home today! I thought you told me tomorrow?" (Y/N)'s mother now joined the party as the boys were still there looking at the interaction.
"Oh! Guys! This is my sister Sophie and my brother Ian!" She gestured to the two behind her. "These are the people in my band Soph! The ones I told you about when we moved here," (Y/N) was conversing with her sister, trying to catch her up on all that's happened.
The boys left and everyone else went back inside. Ian immediately went up to his room, not trying to converse with anyone in this "wretched" family he always called it. The other three just spent their time together, telling each other the things that happened and that the (h/c)-colored's album was basically done. Sophie promised to help her edit songs when she had time. (Y/N) really did love her sister, even though she was always away from home, always on the move. But she wouldn't leave her younger sister forever, right?

Did I totally forget about this, yes, yes I did but it's been hard getting these beginning chapters out. Can't get to the drama part yet! Song used was "Only Me When I'm With You" and it belongs to Taylor Swift <3
