Fire and Blood /-/ a Chicago Fire story

Unless Explicitly stated, will always be in Hally's POV.
I see my sister and her partner, Gabby. I hold my daughter's hand. Gabby sees me. She's helping me surprise Sylv.
"Baby girl, stand right here." I gesture to the side of the ambo.
"Ok mommy." She whispers
Alexandra nods. I let go of her hand and sneak up behind Sylvie. I put my arms around her neck and sit my head on top of hers.
"Hey short stack." I exclaim
"Hally!" She turns around and hugs me
"Hey big sis." I reply
"Where's Alexa?" She asks
"Lex." I call
Alexa runs over and hugs Sylvie.
"Auntie Sylvie." The six year old exclaims happily, "I lost a tooth yesterday."
"Wow!" Sylvie smiles
"Hey Hals!" Gabby hugs me
"Hey Gabs." I exclaim, chuckling, "let's head inside."
Alexa runs over to me, "mama, piggy back?"
I nod and help her on my back. She has social anxiety so she generally goes on my back or I carry her. I carry her in.
"Hey guys." I call
"Hey, mini Brett!" They call.
"Hey, I'm taller!" I reply
"Still. You're younger." Casey calls.
"Shush you!" I reply playfully.
"Hally!" Chief Boden walks in, opening his arms for a hug.
"Hey Chief." I reply and give him a hug, Alex still clung to me.
"Seems you have a little cling bear!" He chuckles
"That I do." I chuckle as I put Alex down.
She clings to my waist, "mommy."
"Hey baby, you're ok." I tell her.
She nods softly.
"So, have you told anyone yet?" Chief asks quietly
I shake my head. And somehow, perfect timing, Casey asks a question.
"Hey Chief, when are we getting our new firefighter. Heard she's transferring in from out of country?" Casey asks
"Wow, I am right here," I turn around.
"You're our new firefighter?" Casey asks
"Yep!" I nod
Casey smiles. Sylvie runs and hugs me.
"I'm so excited!" She smiles
"Calm down sis." I reply.
She chuckles softly, "sorry."
"It's alright. Well, I'm gonna head back to the hotel." I yawn, "still working on finding a house."
"Alright, love you sis," Sylvie hugs me
"Love ya. Lexa, say bye," I exclaim
"Bye Auntie Sylvie." Lex hugs her.
"Bye kiddo." Sylvie replies and I hold Alex's hand.
I walk out with Alex. She starts to skip ahead. The hotel is just down the road.
"Honey, slow down!" I call as we get to a road when a car jumps up on the curb and crashes into a tree.
"Alex. Run back down to 51 and get everyone!" I tell her
She nods and runs. She's a really fast runner. I head over to the car. I see a guy in the front seat. He looks about 20.
"Hey Bud," I go around to his door, "what happened?"
"I don't know, I can't see."  He exclaims
He looks to me and I see blood all over his face.
"Ok Bud. My name is Hally, I'm a firefighter. What's your name?"
"Mickey," he exclaims
"Cool name." I chuckle as 61 and 81 pull up.
Sylvie and Gabby exit 61. Casey jumps out of 81 and runs over.
"This is Mickey, he isn't sure what happened. Looks like he hit his head pretty bad." I explain
"Alright, thanks Hally!" Casey nods, "you can head off. See you next shift."
"Thanks Lieutenant." I nod, "Alex, come on baby."
Alex runs over and we keep walking home. We get to the hotel and I go in.
"Bubs, watch the iPad. I'm going to take a shower." I tell the 5 year old
"Ok mommy," she smiles and takes the iPad.
I head in for a shower and scrub the boy's blood off me. I get dry and then get changed into my pj's. I exit the bathroom and then help Alexandra get changed.
"What do you want for dinner baby?" I ask
"Macdonald's!" She smiles
"Alright!" I chuckle softly and get an online order delivered.
Once it arrives, I bring the food over to the table.
"Mommy! Can we eat on the bed?" Alex asks
"No honey!" I reply
"But mommy!" She whines.
"Alexandra Mariana Brett! Come to the table now!" I exclaim
She walks over and we eat. It gets late and Alex gets clingy.
"Mommy." She mumbles
"You tired bubba?" I ask
"Yeah." She murmurs
"Let's get you to bed then." I reply
She nods. I help her brush her teeth and then I tuck her into bed.
"Night mommy! Love you." She whispers
"Night kiddo, love you too." I kiss her forehead.
She rolls over. I clean up the apartment and then get my laptop out and sit in bed. I start looking at house listings. I find one I like and one that would be good for Alexa that is by a good school and is close to 51. I book a viewing for tomorrow. I close my laptop, brush my teeth and hair and then head to bed.
