(Tyria's POV)
"Love, please. You needn't do all that, it's just a little thing in some shoddy club downtown. Really, it's embarrassing."
That was my Pete, sitting across from me at the kitchen table in our tiny one-bedroom flat. He was busy scribbling away at his drawings. We'd been dating for a few months at that point and were completely and utterly infatuated with each other. Everything was perfect... except for his humility in regards to his band, The Kinks.
Pete was achieving so much, and so fast, I wanted to show his hard work as a musician off to the world, yet he was too humble. Even something as simple as bringing a few friends along to one of their concerts was a big ask of his introverted and down-to-earth personality.
"But Pete, come on, it'll just be me, Robyn, and Delia," I pleaded.
He pushed his beloved sketchbook aside and looked up at me instead of the cartoon he was working on. I gave him my best puppy-dog eyes. With a defeated sigh, he smiled.
"Fine. Only two girlfriends, but any more than that is a crowd, alright?"
"Yes!" I cheered, getting up from my chair and giving him a big kiss on the cheek. "It's tonight at 8?"
"Tonight at 8."
I ran my fingers through his dark curls of hair, warm feelings of love swirling between us. In contrast, outside, a cool rain was gently falling, the drops bursting on our kitchen window. It was autumn, my favorite time of year. Although, I guess we could've done with a bit more sunshine. It'd been raining non-stop.
"Wanna take this to the bedroom?" Pete purred, standing up and linking his arms around my waist. "I have an hour before I go to rehearsal."
I caressed his soft face. "That's more than enough time."

(Dave's POV)
"Fuck, my hair's gettin' all wet in this filthy weather!" I whined.
