Over the next few weeks, he hired security for the house and himself, he used Song Security Agency on a recommendation from Xiao Xingchen. He feels confident about using them since the owner is Xiao Xingchen's husband. He feels better knowing that his home and person are protected now that he knows that he is a high-net-worth person. One of his security doubles as his driver so he rides in the back of his SUV now. He also went back to school and has undercover security that follows him, he doesn't know who they are so that he doesn't mistakenly give them away. He easily caught up with his assignments from when he was out and made good marks on the work he completed.

As promised Carmen came over a few times a week and taught him different skills, how to use the appliances for different tasks and they always ended with cooking a meal that they could share. Today they are cooking Sichuan chicken with mushrooms, bok choy and bamboo shoots with coriander and rice in a spicy garlic sauce.

As they prepare the ingredients and she shows him how to chop the meat and vegetables and how to clean the cutting board in between for food safety she clears her throat "Wuxi can I ask you something?"

He looks up from chopping pausing the knife and bobs his head "Sure ask away."

She gives him a soft grin "I am guessing since you don't know how to do a whole lot to take care of yourself that you don't have a mother? You don't have to answer, I'm not trying to pry or anything."

He shakes his head "Oh no it's fine, um my parents died in a plane crash five years ago, we went to live with my father's business partner since we didn't have any other family. My twin sister and I have been living there ever since but my Aunt for whatever reason isn't fond of me so I have tried for the most part to stay out of sight and away from her. Because she didn't like me, teaching me basic life skills was not on her to-do list. She left me alone for the most part and I stayed away so what I know is from asking the staff to help me or trial and error. The microwave was the easiest to figure out and I can survive off of noodles and other microwaveable meals when I wasn't eating with the family."

She scrunches her brow in concern "Are they, I mean do they treat your sister alright?"

He guffaws "Oh yeah my Aunt loves her, she dotes on her just as much as her two kids it was just me that seemed to rub her the wrong way. I would have insisted meimei move in here with me if I worried that she wasn't being treated well in their house."

She hums "Hmm, I see, well I would like to offer to be your birthing partner since you don't have a mother or anyone to really be there for you when you go into labor. If you want me to that is."

He tears up "Really? You would do that?"

She smiles "Of course you silly boy, you need someone to be there with you to take birthing classes and to hold your hand in the delivery room. If you are ok with it I would really like to be that person for you."

A tear slips down his cheek and she wipes it away with her thumb lightly "I don't know what to say." His voice was heavy with tears.

She smiles gently at him cupping his cheeks "Say yes."

He laughs through his tears and nods "Yes, yes I would be so grateful if you would be my birthing partner. Thank you, Auntie."

He puts the knife down and throws his arms around her neck hugging her like a child would his mother. She strokes his hair and then takes him by the shoulders "Now you have your first scan tomorrow right?"

He nods "Yes, it's my eight-week scan."

She grins cheekily "Can I start being your birthing partner now? I want to go with you for your scan."
