I go into the airport bathroom for privacy and sit on the toilet lid. First I'll open Mikes. It's less personal.

Inside the brown parcel, which I'm pretty sure it's sandwich wrappers for camp, is a walkie talkie and a note. It reads: 'everyone in the party has one'

I smile and look at the walkie talkie. I know i won't be able to use it from California, but I still love it. I set the paper don to open Els and something else falls out.

It's a crumbled ball of paper. I open it and inside is the initialed rock I made El, the crumpled paper says 'here's your rock back, I shouldn't have took this in the first place.'

I laugh and tears fill my eyes, I miss my friends already. Now I move onto Els envelope. Inside is a letter.

𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘹,

𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱, 𝘪 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳. 𝘪 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘥𝘢𝘺. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘪 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘔𝘢𝘹.

𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘌𝘭

Tears pour out of my eyes at those words. I love her too. I will never get to tell her in person. I missed my chance all because I was too scared.

Tears sting my eyes. How will I ever live without her? I look inside the envelope and see photos from Els Polaroid camera.

Looking at all the pictures from camp, I laugh at the memories I made. It was over so quickly. I get to last picture. The one of us before we jumped into the lake.

I put it in the pocket on my shirt, right over my heart, and step out of the stall, out of the bathroom, back into the airport.

I go back to sit beside my mom, a plain pulls in outside and I get up with my bag, but my mom grabs my arm.

"We're not getting on a plain." She says with a smile. Through the crowd of people I see two I recognize. My stepdad, me stepbrother.

"Why are they here?" I say. I'm very confused now. "There's a reason you went to summer camp in such a random place." She says.

"We were looking at houses." She sys grinning. "And we found one." My world starts spinning. Were moving to Hawkins, I don't have to leave my friends.

I cry out In joy. "We're moving here?!" I yell. People in the small airport turn to stare at me but I don't care.

I don't care about anything except that I will see El, we'll go to school together. I can tell her that I... that I love her, in person.

"We're moving here." My mom says. I cry tears of happiness and smile. "The moving truck is at the house already."  My mom says.

Two hours later, my skateboard is unpacked. I'm zooming down endless tiny streets, I know my friends will be outside somewhere, I just need to find them.

Then I hear arguing that sounds freakishly like Lucas and Dustin. Then I hear it. I hear El. I fly around the corner and they are all there.

"El!" I call out as I jump off my skateboard and run to her. She stands up off the curb and hugs me. "I love you too!" I whisper. El sobs, and so do I. I'm finally home.
