The day had come. Tonight would be Airi's concert.
After a long week of planning and organizing, the entire day had been planned out.
Airi would be flying in early this morning, so their job was to guard her throughout her time in Tokyo and then make sure her concert went smoothly. Easy enough, Bakugou guessed.
What he didn't know would happen was he'd be put on personal bodyguard duty.
While most of the class would only be on watch during the concert, a handful of students had been picked to stay with her for the rest of the day, and Bakugou was one of them. And from that handful, they had decided that he should be the one to be by her side every minute.
He had complained about such an assignment of course, but his classmates had simply told him he would scare everyone away. He was the best option to make sure the general public kept their distance since his nature was already a repellent.
Bakugou was still fuming by the time the private jet touched down and the heroes were on their way to greet the star.
He stood on the tarmac at the bottom of the jetbridge when a female figure emerged from the plane.
She had already adorned her pink wig and sunglasses were resting over her eyes. It seems she had to hide her identity even from the heroes. Probably because people like Dunce Face and Racoon Eyes existed.
The singer glanced towards him and smiled. She lugged her suitcase down the steps before him, dropping the bag onto the ground with a grunt. "Hi there, you must be one of the hero students Eraserhead told me about."
Bakugou's jaw locked as he tried to remember his manners then responded, "The name's Dynamight."
Airi nodded, "Nice to meet you, Dynamight. I look forward to your company today. Once we get into the car, would you mind filling me in on what the schedule looks like?"
The pinkette grunted when she picked up her luggage again and Bakugou made no effort to help her. She's almost an adult, she can carry her own shit.
He began leading them toward the car waiting a short distance away, "Sure."
The driver took the bag from her hands and set it in the trunk while Airi and Bakugou slid into the backseat, the girl already looking at him for the itinerary. "Lunch will be waiting for you at the hotel. I'll stay to keep watch until the concert." That was all he gave her. He didn't want to talk more than he had to.
"Aw man, I was really hoping to see the city a bit. Do you think we can go explore?"
He glared at her but she only leaned closer, "Please? Nothing will happen, right? I'll be safe since I've got the hero Dynamight by my side!"
Bakugou knew what she was doing. She was stroking his ego, hoping the praise would make him crack. But he would be sticking to this plan whether she liked it or not.
"No."
Her bottom lip jutted out to a pout, "Dynamight's no fun. Such a stick in the mud."
"The fuck did you say!?" He shouted, outraged.
"You heard me. All I want to do is see the city, but you want to lock me in my hotel room. I guess you're the same as everyone else." Airi huffed, shifting to look out the window.
A vein popped in his forehead. She had only known him for a few minutes and yet somehow knew exactly how to push his buttons.
"I know it's dangerous or whatever. But it's like this every time I go to a new city. My bodyguards won't let me see anything simply because I'm a famous teenager. I thought having fame and going on tour was supposed to be fun." When she looked back towards him, she was frowning. "I was hoping someone my age would understand, someone who already had a taste of the limelight, and the overprotectiveness that came with it."
