Never Again - The Story Of GIDLE

The bright sunlight coming through the window hit Shuhua's eyes, putting an end to her beautiful dream...The one where she was walking with the love of her life, hand in hand, through the banks of the Han river. She mentally cursed the sun for forcing her out of her lover's warmth, even if it was just a dream. Her hands subconsciously searched the other side of her bed, which was cold now.. Where did her roommate go? She pushed herself out of the bed with a loud groan, stretching and letting out a cute yawn.

The smell of pancakes filled the apartment. Shuhua followed it like a puppy and ended up in the kitchen, right behind her roommate who was cooking the breakfast..

"Jin-ah~~ why didn't you wake me up, I missed you" - Shuhua whined, hugging Soojin from the back. "I did call you, but you were sound asleep... Did you brush your teeth yet? I made pancakes.." - Soojin told her as she replaced the pancakes into a plate..  Soojin and Shuhua were assigned as roommates since their trainee days. At first the group of 6 stayed in a dormitory but as their career as GIDLE blossomed, they became one of the leading groups in 4th gen k-pop, which provided them with a lot of great opportunities. One of them was being able to move to a better place near their company. Their new apartment had 3 rooms, a living room, kitchen, a mini studio room etc. While Soojin and Shuhua shared their room, Soyeon - Yuqi and Miyeon - Minnie shared the other two rooms. 

"Something smells nice", Miyeon said as she joined them on the kitchen island. She is the older one in the group by age, but with her character, she might as well be referred to as a maknae(youngest) 

Shuhua released her hold on Soojin and sat beside Miyeon, as they all exchanged small talks regarding their comeback and their members. 

"Soyeon was called to the company an hour ago. Minnie joined her. She hasn't finished working on her song yet.. and ~~ here comes our Beijing puppy" - Miyeon said signaling towards a very moody Yuqi. "Yuqi-ah, are you okay? You don't look so well"- Soojin asked, concern clear in her voice.

 "I am fine unnie, just a little headache" Yuqi replied with a forced smile. It was Shuhua's turn to annoy the moody puppy ; "Yuqi, is this headache in any way related to Miss.Jeon Soyeon? "

" NO IT'S NOT" - Yuqi replied a little too fast for that to be believable... Yuqi had always been an admirer of Soyeon. Ever since the trainee days, she looked up to Soyeon... Somewhere along the way in the past 3 years, her admiration turned out to be a huge crush... Everyone in the group knew about it except for Soyeon, who was always too focused on her works to notice it. Even though Yuqi and Soyeon shared a room for three years, Yuqi never had the courage to make a move on her or simply confess her feelings. To be honest she was scared...Scared of not knowing the consequences...She didn't want to break their beautiful friendship.

Miyeon knowingly smiled at Yuqi and held her hands in a comforting manner.
" It's okay Yuqi... We all know how you feel.. What is it this time ? Did you fight-"

Yuqi shook her head to deny it... " It's nothing serious... I am just being silly ... Soyeon-ni didn't leave any messages....It's been more than an hour since she left. It was Minnie unnie who texted me about where they went."

Soojin placed another pancake into her plate and pushed it towards Yuqi with a smile.... "Yuqi-ah, Soyeon might have been busy. I am sure she would have left you a message if she wasn't. When she left, it looked like a serious matter... On the other hand, she still doesn't know how you feel about her. How long are you planning to keep it between us?"

Yuqi looked up at Soojin as she was chewing the pancakes. She didn't know what to say... Did she want Soyeon to know about her feelings? Can she handle it when she gets rejected? Would she be able to face Soyeon after that? All these questions were troubling her.

Soojin continued as if she could read Yuqi's mind. "You don't know how she will react.. You are afraid of being rejected!! Think positively Yuqi.... it's our Soyeon. Even if you don't end up together, you are still important to her. Trust me, your friendship will not end, we will all be here when you need us. I am not telling you to confess today or tomorrow. Just ask yourself what you truly want. When you fall for someone, there really is no reason for it. But you have to be brave enough to let it blossom into a beautiful relationship. Even if you think you are saving your friendship, it's just hurting you even more" - Soojin glanced at Shuhua who walked over to the dishwasher to put the plates away.

Yuqi knew what Soojin said was true... She has been thinking about confessing to Soyeon for a long time. But she just couldn't find the right time... Neither did she knew if she was ready...

Miyeon cleared her throat, and stood up... " Let's have this conversation some time later...Okay? Yuqi~ah, it will be fine. Just know that your unnies are here for you... Alright... Now come on girls, we have a practice session in an hour.. get ready "

Shuhua looked at Miyeon with an amused expression... Usually Miyeon was the one who is always late for practice, how did she grow up to be a responsible adult in a few hours? Did she hit her head somewhere.... Soojin found it adorable, smiling to herself without knowing....She gave Yuqi a side hug before going to her room to get ready...
