Assisted by her mother, Song Ran finished washing up and was getting ready to go to bed.

As she just covered herself with a thin blanket, Ran Yuwei held a muted phone and said, "Why are there so many annoying calls today? Another one just came in."

Song Ran was taken aback, "Whose phone?"

"Yours."

"Give it to me!"

"It's already hung up."

Song Ran hastily grabbed the phone and asked, "Why did you hang up on someone's call?"

"The number clearly looked like a spam call," Ran Yuwei shrugged and added, "Look, another one is coming in."

Just a second ago, Song Ran was angry, but in the next second, she anxiously showed the phone screen to Ran Yuwei, "Help me answer it, and then you go out."

Ran Yuwei probably understood, about to say something.

"Don't worry about my business," Song Ran interrupted her.

Ran Yuwei answered the call for her, and Song Ran put the phone to her ear.

"Hello?" Li Zan's deep voice came through.

Song Ran remained silent, her vision still blurry, but she could hear Ran Yuwei leaving.

"Song Ran?" he called again.

"I'm here," she immediately replied, "I accidentally pressed the wrong button just now."

"Oh. Are you busy today?" he asked.

"I was taking a shower earlier, so I didn't pick up," she fumbled, slowly lying down on the hospital bed.

Li Zan heard the rustling sound of the blanket and asked, "Are you lying down now?"

"Yes," she curled up under the covers, deprived of sight, but her hearing seemed particularly sharp.

She could hear the sounds of insects chirping in the woods on his end, and she felt his voice was exceptionally gentle, as if even in his voice, there was a soothing power.

She felt inexplicably relieved and said, "I have good news for you."

"What is it?"

"I got my salary. A lot of money. When you come back, I'll treat you to dinner."

"Okay," he chuckled lightly, then sighed softly, "I just want to eat the food you make... I crave fish soup."

She chuckled, "Sure, when you come back, I'll cook for you."

"Yeah," Li Zan said and fell silent for a moment.

After a few seconds of quiet, Song Ran asked, "What's wrong?"

He smiled slowly and said, "I have a month of special closed training ahead. I may not be able to contact you for a month."

"Oh." There was a hint of disappointment in her tone, and she quickly asked, "Is it dangerous?"

"It's just training."

"Oh, I heard it wrong. That's okay." Song Ran relaxed again, but after a few seconds, she realized, "After the training, are you going to Dongguo?"

"Yeah."

"For how long?"

"Six months."

"Don't you usually go for eight months?"

Li Zan hesitated for a moment, not responding.

Song Ran continued to mutter to herself, "It's okay. In a while, I'll also go to Dongguo. Then I can come to see you."
