Li Zan was shot in the leg and immediately rushed to the hospital.

In the moment the mobile bed was pushed into the operating room, he suddenly jumped up to grab Song Ran, but the medical staff forcibly pressed him onto the bed and pushed him inside.

Song Ran rushed to the door, inside was the sound of knives and ironware crashing to the ground. The mobile bed, surgical table, storage rack, iron tray, and surgical instruments collided into a mess. The doctors and nurses of Dongguo were shouting.

She barged into the room and saw Li Zan dragging his bleeding right leg, leaning on the bed with the old injury on his left leg, his elbow barely supporting his body. He was alert and tense, holding a surgical knife in one hand, threateningly protecting himself from the others.

"You are safe now! We are doctors, we are good people!" The doctors and nurses surrounded him on both sides, trying to comfort him, but they dared not touch the blade in his hand directly.

The stalemate continued.

He kept retreating with the mobile bed, but his legs couldn't stand straight. As the bed rolled, he lost support and fell to the ground, the surgical knife flying out of his hand. He tried to grab it, but the medical staff around him seized the opportunity to subdue him.

He pushed and kicked, shoving people aside, crawling under the bed, struggling to stand up. He grabbed the bed and swung it forcefully, knocking everyone away. The storage rack fell to the ground, and the iron surgical instruments clattered, creating a mess.

"A Zan!"

The mobile bed, flying towards Song Ran, suddenly stopped. Li Zan grabbed the bed tightly, his deep black eyes looking at her through the dirty and messy hair. He breathed heavily, his injured right leg bleeding; he seemed to have no sensation, standing forcefully, staring at her.

"A Zan..." Song Ran held onto the end of the mobile bed, reaching out to him, walking closer. "Do you remember me?"

Li Zan's dry lips moved slightly, and a faint, hoarse voice came from his throat, "Ran Ran."

Song Ran's eyes suddenly became hot with tears. Just as she was about to say something, his expression changed, taking a staggering step forward to grab her outstretched hand and pulling her behind him, while grabbing the bed with his other hand, glaring fiercely at the group of doctors in the operating room.

"A Zan!" Song Ran hugged him, reaching out to touch his face.

He quickly turned his head to look at her, then immediately looked vigilantly at the people around him.

"A Zan, look at me." Song Ran forcefully turned his face towards her. "They're doctors, not bad people. They're doctors!"

Li Zan stared at her with a stubborn and straight gaze, as if a baby was looking at the only existence in its world. He looked dazedly, listening to her words.

A doctor took the opportunity to approach and quickly injected a needle into his neck.

Li Zan's eyes changed, about to retaliate but Song Ran rushed up and tightly hugged his neck. Li Zan struggled a bit but couldn't break free. The doctor had finished the injection and quickly stepped back.

"It's okay," she hugged his head, comforting him. "A Zan, it's okay!"

As these words fell, his body began to shake violently, his hand gripping her neck, right where the bullet had left a scar.

Song Ran suddenly remembered the last thing she said to him that night before she was shot, "A Zan, it's okay."

He hugged her tightly, covering her neck, his head pressed against her cheek, tears streaming out like a flood. The low cry was filled with endless heartbreak and despair, surprisingly overlapping with the crying in her dreams.
