~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~'IN LOVE WITH AN ANGEL~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me away from the warehouse. My heart raced faster with every pound my foot made on the dirt. I knew I wasn't going to outrun him, but I had to try. The sky above me grew as black as the water on the other side of the road. Thunder and lightning began to battle for power in the sky, as the rain began to come, seeping into everything.
I couldn't breathe anymore. My legs felt like jelly under my weight. I knew what was to come. I felt my foot hit the rock. My knees buckled, and hit the mud, which sent me flying onto the ground. He was coming for me, and I couldn't stop him.
My feet started digging into the soil, as I propelled myself back up. My hands shot to my ears, as a ring, so shrill and high it could barely be heard filled the air with its scream. My body crumpled against the noise. Blood was pulsing through my head, and my heart was erratic. The noise stopped as suddenly as it started, and I left no time to think, I just reacted.
My legs began to carry me forward again, but I stumbled over the rough dirt. I saw a cliff dead ahead, and ran towards it. I didn't want to, but I knew what I was about to do. He was gaining on me, faster and faster. I was almost to the cliff when I heard him grunt. I slid, but too far. I was going over the edge now, falling into the darkness all around me. My throat let out a scream so loud and terrified, that it was almost not my own. I knew I was going to die.
A firm hand grasped my wrist, and yanked me back up. His grip was tight, and mine was equally tight gripping his forearm. I looked up at his face, but couldn't see it. It was clouded over in fire! Scream, after scream, after scream came from my mouth. I wriggled in his grasp trying to get away.
"No!" he yelled as my hand slid out of his hold. I was drifting down, down, down into nowhere with no hope to be found.
I bolted up out of my covers, as sweat and tears tricked down my face. It was only a dream, just a dream. Yea, I thought, a dream that I had had for the past six months every night. No matter what it always had that same handsome face, grabbing my arm, and me slipping through his grasp. I shuddered as I climbed out of bed, and headed to the bathroom, checking every room as I went. I'm twenty-three and look at me! Checking out everything for monsters like a little kid.
I made it to the bathroom finally, and I double, no, triple checked the shower. Once I was satisfied nothing was going to jump out and kill me, I wet a washrag with cold water. I carried the rag into the little living room my apartment had, and laid down on the couch. I laid the rag on my head, and focused on one spot of the ceiling trying to remember as much of the dream as possible. Nothing new came to my head. I knew this dream forwards, backwards, inside, and out. No matter how many times I ran through it, nothing ever came from it.
I glanced over at the digital clock. It was flashing 12:01 in bright red lights, like the power had just come on. That was odd. I got up, and went over to the kitchen to check my microwave's clock. It was flashing too. Maybe the landlord was having some electrical problems tonight? I'll ask him tomorrow. Shrugging it off, I threw the rag that was still in my hand into the bathroom, and made my way to my office. There was no way I was going to be able sleep.
