*Y/N, Jack, Gareth took a taxi to the hospital with Mason after the little cabin party*
*In the taxi:
Mason: I'm so glad we made it to the final 16.
Jack: Yeah, me too. Towards the end I really thought we were going to lose the lead and get knocked out.
Gareth: Sometimes you were close.
Y/N: I almost despaired.
Jack: Yeah, I realised that when I was substituted.
Mason: Yeah, it was hard to see from the outside from the first minute.
Jack: Yeah, I thought it was a lot worse on the outside than on the pitch.
Gareth: Yeah, same here. It used to be less bad when I was playing.
Y/N: I think it might be because you can hardly do anything from outside.
Jack: Yeah, I mean you can say things, but it's the 11 that are on the field that have to play.
Gareth: That's exactly why.
*shortly after you've finished talking*
Mason: But honestly, I hope I can play again soon.
Gareth: Yeah, I hope so for your sake too.
Mason: It hurts a bit less now, I think the cooling has helped quite a bit.
Jack: Yes, I can well imagine that.
Y/N: You heard the two of them before, it doesn't have to be anything serious.
Jack: Yeah, maybe it's nothing.
Mason: Well, if it's nothing, why couldn't I play?
Gareth: Simple, you could have picked up an injury because you were definitely banged up at that point.
Mason: Okay yeah that still makes sense.
Gareth: Yeah, or what would you rather have? Take a game off, or start this game, get injured and then be out for the whole Euro?
Mason: Well in that case I'll take the game off.
Y/N: I would have too.
Jack: In Mason's defence. During the game, we're usually a bit touchy.
Y/N: A bit??
Jack: Yeah, something.
*You all have to laugh*
Jack: Well, what I was going to say originally is that when we have complaints before the game, we always want to minimise them and ignore them and think, oh, it's not going to happen.
Gareth: Yeah, but actually that's a travelling mistake.
Mason: Theoretically we would know.
Y/N: But in theory it's no good.
Gareth: Jack, listen to your sister and you Mason, listen to your girlfriend.
*When you arrived at the hospital and went to reception
Receptionist: Good afternoon:
Gareth: Good afternoon, I've booked Mason Mount in for a possible injury.
Receptionist: Just a moment... Yes, you can take him to the second floor where a doctor is already waiting. You're lucky, it's not very busy at the moment.
Gareth: Thank you very much
*You've all taken the lift to the second floor*
Doctor: Good afternoon. Mr Mount, you can come straight to me. Would your relatives like to come with you?
*Y/N and Jack at the same time: Yes, we'll come with you*
Mason: (laughs) I almost think the question would have been mine, but oh well.
Gareth: I'll wait out here and have a quick think about the game beforehand.
Mason: You got it
*In the treatment room*
Doctor: So, could you tell me briefly what happened and what exactly is causing you pain?
*Mason told me briefly and the doctor looked roughly over his ankle*
Doctor: Okay, I don't think you have anything serious, but I'd still like to do a quick x-ray to be on the safe side.
Mason: Okay, but what do you suspect if it's nothing serious?
Doctor: To be honest, it's pretty much nothing. It's a bit swollen and painful as I understand it, but it looks to me more like your ankle was still cold and just moved a bit wrong.
Mason: Okay.
Doctor: It can hurt and if you'd kept going it could have ended in a serious injury. So you did everything right.
Mason: Okay, I hope that's all it is.
Doctor: Your chances are good, but let's go for an X-ray to rule out anything worse.
*after the x-ray when the doctor had the results*
Doctor: Well, as I suspected, it's what I told you about before.
Mason: Phew, I'm glad to hear that.
Doctor: So you should be able to train again the day after tomorrow, as long as you're not in pain, so I won't give you any painkillers. But I will give you a plaster to cool you down a bit and reduce inflammation.
Mason: Great, thank you very much.
Doctor: Gladly, then I wish you a speedy recovery. If it does take longer than previously mentioned, I would be happy if you could get back to me.
Mason: I'll do that.
Doctor: Good, I hope you have a good evening.
Mason: Me too.
*You've all said goodbye to the doctor and gone to Gareth*
Gareth: And???
Mason: I've got nothing, well, nothing serious that's going to keep me out for long.
Gareth: I see.
Jack: To be a bit more specific, no training tomorrow as a precaution, but if it doesn't hurt again the day after tomorrow, he can train and play again.
Gareth: Okay, good. I'm glad about that.
Mason: Me too.
Gareth: Unfortunately, as we don't have too long until the next game, I had planned a training session tomorrow, but you can of course recover in the pool.
Mason: Thanks Gareth
Gareth: I'd love to, but I assume we'll be missing someone tomorrow in that case (looks at Y/N)
Mason: Well, you can train with the others if you want.
Y/N: I assume there'll be a training session in the morning and that you'll sleep off Mase for a rune.
Gareth: Yes
Mason: Good thinking.
Y/N: Well then, I'll come train in the morning and be with you afterwards, okay.
Mason: I'm in.
Gareth: Good, I'll make a note.
*You've all taken a taxi back to the hotel now*
