Chapter 11: Bloody Mess

The next morning, the friends reconvene at their usual spot at the university the realization of the situation weighing on each of them As they discuss the clues they got last night showing the similar locations and dates and the patterns of the girls being very similar as well as a small list of people who were out during both murders.
the campus news broadcasts an alarming update in the hall.
another murder has occurred this time of a young man in a warehouse across from Crestwood University, he was stabbed multiple times and left with a bag over his head, we will have further news on this tragic story later tonight, but now we will discuss our own Crestwood Cavilers taking on Lakewood Trouts tonight at 7!

The air became stifling as the realization hits them the mysterious informant who provided them with crucial information might be the latest victim. The friends exchange glances a mixture of shock and dread settling in.

Emma breaks the silence, "Guys, what if the person we just met is now dead because of the info he gave us? We need to find out who's behind this before more lives are lost."

The date mentioned in the documents is approaching If there's a chance to prevent another tragedy, we can't afford to wait and I think whoever this is knows we are onto them and are taking out people who are a threat to them much like our informant."

As they delve deeper into the clues, the friends find connections leading to a baseball event on the April 17th date, a day many people would be busy and not notice something happening.

The group looks at Joshua
Tyler chimes in
"I think you should still go to that game on the 17th and play if you don't it'll be way too suspicious but I think if we can stalk out the school during it like our informant did we can find out who and what's happening on the day they plan to strike."

A few Days pass as the friends discreetly investigate attending classes while secretly piecing together the puzzle Tensions rise as the April 17th deadline approaches and the weight of the information they carry becomes more burdensome.

On the day of the baseball event, Joshua reluctantly gears up for the game the weight of the date lingering in his mind.
The friends strategically position themselves around the campus, blending in with the crowd to keep a watchful eye.

As the game unfolds, the tension rises as it's a close one and the friends remain vigilant observing the surroundings for any signs of unusual activity. The atmosphere is charged with anticipation.

Suddenly amidst the cheers and excitement of the baseball game the campus news interrupts with a breaking story that somebody had broken into the school during the game and all of their security cameras were down and police were on the way and telling students to not panic and not to leave the baseball field until it was safe.

Panic seizes the friends and crowd as the announcement echoes through the stadium The campus once a familiar place now transforms into a potential danger zone.

Emma's voice shakes as she utters, "This can't be a coincidence. It's happening again."

Hannah with a newfound urgency adds "We need to move, now. We can't stay here let's run down and get Joshua and leave"

Michael scanning the surroundings realizes
"If they've targeted the campus during the game they might be aiming for a larger impact. We have to find out what's going on."

In the chaos of the unfolding situation, the friends hastily make their way towards the heart of the campus. The sounds of sirens in the distance signal the approach of law enforcement.

Tyler his eyes darting around says
"We can't let them slip away. If this is the day they planned we need to act fast."

As they weave through the crowds, the friends spot an area where security seems particularly occupied.
With a shared nod they divert towards the less guarded sections moving stealthily to avoid attracting attention.

In their stealthy pursuit the friends notice a guy named Randy hastily running away from the main crowd appearing agitated and glancing over his shoulder.

Joshua's instincts kick in fueled by a mix of adrenaline and determination. Without second-guessing he breaks away from the group and starts sprinting after Randy.

Emma yells
"Joshua what are you doing!"

Hannah snarles
"Don't question him he can take anyone on"

As Joshua catches up he tackles Randy to the ground his athletism helping his pursuit.
the two wrestle on the campus grounds. Joshua fueled by urgency, pins Randy down and demands answers.

"Why are you here? What's happening on this campus? Are you involved in the murders?" Joshua's questions pierce through Randy.

Randy caught off guard and physically overpowered stammers out, "I... I don't know anything about murders. I was just told to run...

Joshua yells I don't believe that for a minute
As he punched Randy hard in the face causing him to instantly bruise up and yells again
"Fucking talk!"

Randy shakes and response is just the same
"I was told to run! I don't know anything about what's going on!"

Joshua punches him again and again and again until Tyler and Michael both grab Joshua pulling him off before Hannah runs and holds the injured Randy down.

That's enough yelled Tyler

Hannah holds Randy down
"You're not going anywhere you piece of shit murderer!"

Emma interrupts
"We don't know if Randy did anything guys we can't beat him to death, we're here for justice and getting the murderer caught not to become murderers."

As Randy struggles to provide coherent answers with his swollen face the distant wail of police sirens intensifies.

And suddenly police busy into the building to see a injured Randy on the ground and a bloody knuckle Joshua being held back by his friends.
