Chapter 8: Surprise Surprise!

Four years ago
Michaels House provided the backdrop for a celebration that would linger in the memories of Michael, Tyler, Joshua, Kayla, Emma, and Hannah. The air was electric with anticipation, all thanks to Kayla's ambitious plan to throw Michael a surprise birthday party at his house.

Kayla, the mastermind behind the festivities, had approached Michael's mom with the idea, sparking a chain of events that would forever shape their friendships. As the guests arrived, the atmosphere brimmed with youthful excitement, and Kayla reveled in the success of her covert operation Surprise Birthday Party.

In the heart of the gathering, Michael greeted his friends Tyler and Joshua, unaware of the surprise that awaited him. Tyler, still relatively new to the group, struck up a conversation with Joshua after being introduced to him from Michael, Joshua and Tyler got along quick and told each other their goals,
Joshua wanting to be a baseball star and Tyler wanting to get into computer programming or hacking. Michael being the perfect host, seamlessly introduced his friends, laying the foundation for connections that would grow stronger over the years.

The living room echoed with laughter and the clinking of glasses, Kayla made her grand entrance With a magnetic energy, she hugged everyone in the room, her eyes gleaming with mischief as many others followed her inside including Hannah and Emma, To Michael's astonishment, she wished him a resounding "Happy Birthday," her voice carrying the joy of both the occasion and the successful execution of her surprise.

Tyler and Joshua observing the scene, couldn't help but be impressed by the surprise.

On the other side of the room, Emma and Hannah got deep into conversation.
Hannah, voicing her thoughts aloud confessed, "I wish I could have a boyfriend like Joshua. He seems perfect and he and Kayla look so happy together I'm so jealous of her."

Emma reassured Hannah with a knowing smile. "You'll find someone amazing, Hannah. Just be patient You deserve someone who makes you as happy as Joshua makes Kayla."

And the night Tyler met Joshua and Michael had a great birthday thanks to Joshua's girlfriend Kayla.

Emma always knowing to social dynamics recognized the growing connection between Hannah and Kayla. Meanwhile Hannah seized an opportunity and asked Kayla if she'd be interested in going to a movie later that day

However the plan took an unexpected turn when Emma expressed her interest in joining them.
Hannah hesitated In a moment of awkwardness she mustered a poorly concealed apology to Emma that she only has two tickets for the movie and it's solded out.
Emma felt a hint of disappointment

Kayla, ever the peacemaker assured Emma
"Hey I promise next weekend we'll go to a movie I got you" With a heartfelt smile.

Hannah and Kayla left for the movie.
Little did they know that this day would also be vital to their friend group as Kayla and Hannah would become best friends with a great bond together and they would both start hanging out with Joshua and the others often for the years to come.

Current day.

Michael, Tyler, Emma and Joshua and Hannah sat and talked about Michaels birthday party again reminiscing of how Tyler and Joshua met during it and how everyone loved Kayla and how she had no enemies, wondering who would have done this.

As they all had to go to their exam classes and Michael sat waiting on another phone call from the anonymous man who potentially had all the keys they needed to unlock the mystery and bring peace back to their friend group and the college of Crestwood University.
