12. Away from the worlds

Liam's POV

It's been 2 days since the dinner-o-disaster all thanks to Mr. I-have-the-coolest-boyfriend who the fuck does he think he is? I did had a tiny viny thing for him but that's just ancient history I can't stand the guy anymore just like it was when we first met

Anyways he isn't important enough that I think so much about him
Today is finally the day I confront Hayden. Yes I will breakup with her because even I know how she really is

I walk in the school feeling pretty confident which all fades away after seeing Him

There they were Theo and Bright, the It couple of Beacon Hills High.
Laughing together like the lovey dovey shit show they pull is so pretty honestly I could not give two fucks but he doesn't deserve happiness after all he did!
I ignore them and walk towards my first class of the day waiting it all to be over so that I can dump her and get it over with

After School

"Babe, how do I look?"

"Babe, wanna go shopping later?"

"Babe, wanna go to that new restaurant that just opened up?"

"Oh my god shut up just shut up for the love of god" I yell frustration running through my entire body now.
Never realized how annoying her voice actually is

"Did you just say that to me?" I could sense the fury in her

"Yes because that's what you deserve! You've been cheating on me for MONTHS, using me and my money! How long will you put up the act Hayden?"

"What, how did you know" she says looking shocked and not even denying the accusations

"Just leave me the hell alone, we're done" I don't wanna cause a scene

"You'll leave just like that? Fine whatever go to hell because soon you will regret this. No one is able to love you Liam! No one but ME! I put up with you and your pathetic self, your anger issues and your panic attacks you're just a little psycho who isn't deserving of love" well that obviously hurt

I could not seem to process it all and started moving, letting my feet take me anywhere but here.
Her words ringing in my ears repeating those words over and over. My breathing starts getting heavy and my chest rises due to the lack of oxygen but I somehow manage to slam into someone familiar. And just my luck, it was him
Before he says anything I let my mind take over my heart

"Theo, take me home please" I know better than to drive in this state

Theo's POV

"Theo, take me home please" those words and the guy clutching my shoulder weakly is all it takes for my mind to go wild. Hundreds of questions erupt in my mind.
What happened to him? How did this happen? Was I too late? But I put them all aside and take him to my car getting him seated and securing him with the seatbelt with shaky hands. I don't know what's happening

I take him to the lodge because I cannot let him go home where his parents would see him and bug him more about it

The entire ride he held my hand which was free and I didn't say much because that would freak him out. I'm walking on thin ice here

We arrived at the lodge and luckily it was empty as everyone was still at school or running errands and whatnot

I made him a smoothie and let him rest for a while

I felt my phone ringing somewhere and started looking for it only for it to flash Bright🥀 at my face

I answer it once I make sure Liam is sleeping

"Hey, what's up?"

"Hey, I thought we were driving out together but your car's gone" he says

"Oh I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you I left early. Liam needed to get out of there it's a long story, but really I am sorry I didn't tell you" How could I forget? But it's fine he wouldn't mind.
He is my FAKE boyfriend after all

"You're with Liam? It's alright I'll see you tomorrow" the line goes dead

I don't know how I should react to it but what I do know is that Liam needed me once again! After months I was the one there for him! He needed me! He needed me

Although I want to know what's going on with him, I am glad I found him and got him all to myself away from the worlds even if it's for just a few hours

A few hours later

He finally woke up and I didn't know what to say or do so I just silently watched him

"I broke up with Hayden" he said looking down

"Well it's about time, Congratulations" I laughed trying to lighten the atmosphere

"It's not funny Theo" he said finally looking me dead in the eye

"I'm sorry"

This is why he was like that when he bumped into me. Of course! I can't believe how stupid I am not noticing this. 'But what did she do or say to drive him to this stage?' That's all that whirled in my mind

"Hey, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you but you deserve better. Way way better" I said patting his shoulder

"Thanks" he smiled, He smiled at something I said after such a long time! I can die happy now

"Anyways it's getting late, we should head back. You will drope me off right?"

"Yeah of course"
