The Trucker

Capter four

It's about 2:45 am when I heard the door open. I sit straight up to the man from earlier "what the-" he says he face quickly shifts to anger. I punch him smack in the nose. He growled "you bi-" I smack him "there is a child listening possibly! Language!" I snap at him. He picked up a pipe and I again took up a fighting stance "come at me." I growl challengingly. He runs at me and drives the pipe into where my heart is. I hear Mrs.Lennox cry out, I simply stop and look at the pipe. I bark a laugh. "I'm a roach baby! Can't kill this!" I rip the pipe out and whack the man as hard as possible in the head, he fell over, knocked out cold. I jump into the. Driver's seat of her car, "follow me!" I call. She nods and follows me onto the highway. I put pedal to the metal and take off, Mrs.Lennox following closely. I take a detour to my friend's house.

      It's around 4 when we arrive. I bang on her door, in order to wake her. A very groggy Kay comes to the door, Henry at her feet. "Sophia?" I sigh "sorry to impose, but we need a place to stay for the rest of the day..." Kay hugs me. "Of course." I hug back, she pulled away and grimaced at the blood that was now on her robe. "Sorry." I apologize. She waves me off. I go and get mrs.Lennox and Anna. I helped them out, Dotty and Thunder asleep on Anna, so I carry the trio inside. "Do you need to go to the hospital?" Mrs.Lennox asked. "Naw, I'm fine, just please don't tell anyone..." I say worriedly. She nods in understanding, leaning down to kiss Anna's forehead. "This is Sarah, Keylyana, Sarah, Sarah, Keylyana." I introduced them, mrs.Lennox thanking Kay.

      Everyone else was asleep when I heard a strange noise. I choose to ignore it, but soon it felt like eyes were burning into my back, and a gentle blue glow filled the room. I groan and turned to the window, but nothing was there, and the blue glow gone. Not even five minutes later, a similar noise happened and a red glow filled the room. I groaned and turned over, but yet again, nothing was there. I knew something or someone was watching me so I wrote them a note. <to whoever keeps looking at me, I'm trying to sleep, if you wanna talk or something just see me later PLEASE I am wiped, sorry. Hope you have a good day.> I place it on the window, about ten minutes later the blue light returns and disappears seconds later, I sigh with relief.

      I'm in the kitchen making pancakes with chocolate chips and bacon, along with some boiled eggs. Kay is awake and grumbling at me because she wanted me to rest. Anna walked into the kitchen, "perfect timing! I have a bunny and cat shaped pancake for you~" I say, all sleep leaves her eyes excitement replacing it. "Thank you!"she jumps up and down before digging in. I smile Sarah comes down next. "And two hearts for the busy mom, along with some bacon and eggs." I give her the dish, she just stares at it. "I'm sorry! Are you vegan?! Is it burnt? You hate boiled eggs?!" I fret worriedly. She puts up her hands and waves them a bit. "I'm just not used to being treated like this without the person wanting something in return." She tears up a bit Kay chuckles at her response. "That's Sophia for you, what she gets is a smile." I nod vigorously. "I want nothing but your happiness." I smile at her kindly. I love making people happy, it sounds corny, but 'if I can't feel happiness all the time, I want to do my best to make sure people around me feel it.' I think. I skip breakfast, I'm not that hungry right now, I clean the dishes and put them away after drying them, Kay bellyaching the whole time about how she should help and whatnot. "This is my house! I should do the dishes!!" She said for the millionth time. "Aaaaannndddd..... done." I put the last dish away. "You are so bullheaded." She crossed her arms and I snicker "you betcha!" I tease putting the towel away as well. Kay rolled her eyes and Henry begged for treats. "We should probably hit the road, you dad is waiting right?" I ask Anna who is playing hide and seek with the animals. Out of nowhere, a little red dot appears on her head. I run over and wrap my body around her, just in time to take the bullet. I snap my head around growling, absolutely ticked. It was that guy, my pupils turned into thin lines, like cat's. A low growl manifested in my throat. I stop for a second "Anna, darling, can you pretty please get you mom and tell her to get in my truck, both of y'all, please." I say kindly, and she smiled. "Okay miss Sophia." I clutched my heart as she walked away "t-to pure..." I mumbled and Kay laughed. I returned to my previous stance, growling, ready to pounce, but the man is now carrying on of those things that can shoot constantly. Great. He lets it rip, and I just walk forward, jump through the window, all the while, bullets hitting me like rain in a shower. I walk up slowly and when I get up to him, I grab him by the neck, causing him to drop the gun. "This is your last warning, next time you try and hurt them, you won't come out without being in pain, if you come out at all." I growl, chucking him over the road, into a nearby field. "Nice throw!" Kay calls, used to this. I shrug "want me to help you with the window?" I ask. She waves me off "get outa hear you, all ya scat!" She calls playfulness all over her face.
