Tamara's POV

"Yuh a take taxi or Big Red a come pick yuh up? Sher asked.

"Why do you keep calling the man big red? Anyways I have been calling him for a while and not getting any answer. If anything I will just take a taxi."

He does this thing where he disappears and I hated it. He kept telling me that I had nothing to worry about because most of the time he was helping his mom or sleeping but no matter what he would have called already.

"To his house or yours?"

"I don't know enuh, I might just go home to hang out with Marley and Chev."

"Rass, Chev done whore down the place now?"

"Sher, Jesus man."

The funny thing is I asked her the same frigging question and she claimed she went down to work for a friend for a couple days.

"Anyways, let me come leave Chin dutty place. Yuh sure yuh alright?"

"Gwan man, I am good."

"Alright"

After Sher left and I was finish checking off, I sat there for a while and waiting to see if Xavier would call. This was strange to me, this wasn't like him to not call me for so long. I decided to call once more and on the second ring he picked up.

"Tam?"

"Where have you been all day Xavier? Yuh nuh see me calling you?"

"I'm sorry babe, I was so tired and I fell asleep, woke up and started working out. I'm really sorry."

"Ok. Well, I am about to leave work. Are you able to come pick me up?"

"Yeah, I will be there in a few."

"Ok, thanks."

I saw Chin coming down the stairs and I hid from him. Honestly I just wanted to avoid him as much as possible. All I could think of is him asking me to walk out with him and then get ambushed again.

"Me woulda just dead this time on my own," I said while ducking behind the counter.

When I was sure that he was gone I got up and picked up my bag then headed to the exit. Security checked my bag and let me out.

Making my way outside to where the others were standing, either waiting on a taxi or their drive, I saw a boy approaching me. I wanted to turn back but the security had already locked the door.

"Miss I—"

I raised my hand at him and turned my back. "Sorry, I don't have anything to give you right now." Assuming he was a beggar.

"No Miss, I got something to give you." I turned around to look at him pulling a brown envelope from under his sweater and pushed towards me.

"Who gave you this?" I asked him before I took it from his hand.

"A man on a bike paid me $2000 to wait for you out here and give this to you" he said. I looked around to see if anyone was watching us.

I took the envelope from him and he ran off and quickly jumped into a taxi. The envelope seemed a little heavy. When I looked inside the first thing I saw was a picture of Xavier.

It was a picture of him standing beside his car. You could tell that the person that took it was watching him from a distance. I turned the picture to see that something was written on it.

"Is this your boyfriend? I have a lot to tell you about him."

Instantly I got nervous. I pushed the picture back into the envelope and walked out to the road to get a taxi. There is no way I could go to Xavier's house with this envelope. I had to call him to let him know that I was going home.
