- Macabre - König vs Ghost x Male Reader

2 - Canine

    For the next few hours, you sparred like always and did chores around the base. You sighed before going into the courtyard where the canines were. You lay down in the grass as Tank and some of his siblings along with their mother ran up to you. You laughed and took your mask down, nobody came out here around this time so you knew you'd be fine for now. Tank panted in happiness and licked your face. You sat there enjoying the ambiance, the pups sleeping around your legs. You closed your eyes as you laid your head into the body of Tank's mom's fluffy fur, she licked your face and acted as a mother to you as well. You patted her head with a smile, "How are you feeling, Lady, old gal, hard work looking after all these pups ay?" You said talking to her, her responding with a variety of noises. Her ears twitched and her head turned quickly to the entrance of the courtyard, you sat up quickly to put your mask back on before whoever was coming came out. As the door opened Lady growled until seeing that it was the captain. You sighed and relaxed before closing your eyes again before Lady growled again, you opened your eyes, knowing Lady doesn't growl at the captain or the trainers. König was with the captain, you sighed and sat up, and the captain said something to him before smiling and leaving. König walked over to me, the pups now had their heads raised and were looking at him. 

   You patted and stroked Lady's fur, soothing her as the Colonel sat down next to you. "So you come here often maus?" He asked, resting his hands on his legs, twirling his thumbs around each other. You nodded and laid back down on Lady's body. "So, what is her name?" He asked as he pointed to Lady. "Lady, Mother of Tank and the rest of these pups."  You said as you gestured your arms to the pups lying around your legs, Tank jumped up into König's lap. König chuckled and patted Tank on the head, "I've never seen this type of canine before, what is their breed?" You sat up, "These are wolfdogs, Lady is an American Clouded Wolf but all her pups are wolfdogs, seeing as how their father was just another dog here at the base."  König smiled, "I'm sorry for your loss in the spar-" You put your hand over his, "I don't mind, it was nice to have a strong opponent for once."  You nodded to him, staring up at him. It seemed as if he stopped breathing for a moment. He jumped up, "Ja, well I better go, I have duties, see you later, maus." He said with a small wave before running back into the building. You chuckled and turned to your side, now with the intent to sleep. 

   - König's POV - 

    I ran out of there because of my panic, I wasn't expecting him to be so captivating. I closed the door behind me and sat on my bed, Horangi knocked on the door asking if I was okay. I told him I was fine and dismissed him. I lay in my room for a few hours until it started getting dark, I walked out to look around the base a bit to see how well recruits follow the rules. I walked through the halls until reaching some double doors, hearing people yelling and a helicopter landing. I looked outside at medics running to the helicopter with a stretcher, I saw Macabre's dog Lady with her ears down and staying next to the stretcher, a bloody hand reached down and patted Lady before the medics pushed past me and rushed the covered person to the infirmary. I speed walked and followed them, standing outside the door to not distract the medics, hearing the occasional scream or yelp. The two medics came out of the office, screaming and flinching when noticing me. "Sorry for scaring you both, I just wanted to know who is in there?" The medic closest to me gulped and spoke in shutters, "It's one of the recruits, his name's Macabre." My eyes widened and I went into the room quietly. Lady's head perked up and she growled and stood up until I walked into the little bit of light emitting from the lamp. She stopped and nodded at me before placing her head back down on the bed. I pulled the chair next to the bed over and sat next to Macabre. "What happened maus? Are you okay? Do you want this sheet off your face?" I asked, gripping their hand. "No, I don't want the sheet moved, I don't have my neck gaiter on. But um, I just didn't succeed too well on the mission I went on." I thought for a moment, "Well tell me what happened." I insisted. - End of König's POV - 

  You sighed, you explained to him that shortly after he left the captain called you for a mission to disable and destroy an enemy bomb-making, safe-house. Although you were ambushed you got your teammates out but not before being shot and stabbed multiple times before being hit by the explosion's pulsating blast. You heard him shaking his leg with worry, "Why would they put you in danger like that." you entwined your fingers around his, "Thanks for worrying Colonel, but I've been in a worse situation." you said, he huffed and stood up, "I'll leave you to rest Macabre, I'll be back, but please call me König." He said. You sighed and fell asleep, Lady now laying next to you with your head in her fluffy neck fur.

   - Your POV - 

   I woke up to the chirping of birds and the noises of quiet chattering and footsteps. I sighed and sat up painfully, covering my lower face with the sheet, and taking my hair tie out before yawning and looking around. The captain was standing next to the bed, "Mornin Sunshine, it's noon, but besides that good to see you up, a few people came to visit you but you were still asleep, and all the recruits that went on the mission are all okay thanks to you, it's sad to see you'll be gone in a bit, but it's for the better." I tilted my head and thought the worst. "What do you mean I'll be gone?!" I yelled slightly, afraid I was being dispatched from the military. " Ay, Ay, Calm yourself, you're not leaving the military or anything, you'll just be moving into a new team, someone bought your contract, and they were quite impressed with you." She said, I stared at her blankly, "You just gave my contract to some random team, what did I even do, I've been here for over a year and you just give me up so easily." I said angrily, "Ugh whatever, can you please just get me a mask and some new clothes, I hate being in the infirmary." I said in aggravation as I sat up, throwing my legs off the bed. "Sorry if I made you mad by hiring you for KorTac, Maus.." Said the large man standing on the opposite side of my bed, twiddling his fingers nervously and looking down slightly. I jumped when I heard his voice, "Jesus, you scared the shit out of me, how long have you been standing there?" I asked as I stood up with a grunt of pain. He patted Lady's head, "Since about 8 in the morning. I wanted to stay in case something happened and some people asked if I wanted to come to visit you, it was the guy you elbowed yesterday, he was with a short girl with black hair and green eyes with lots of freckles." I sighed, "Champion and Basilisk, they think they are my friends, I don't see them that way but what can I do, they find me everywhere and cling to me, but it was fun beating them in spars. Oh wait, why did you buy my contract?" I asked as I shook my hair to reposition it. "Ah, well, you impressed me and I was determined to get you on my team, I think you'll be uh- a great value." He said, as if he were trying to make it sound believable but I blew it off and shrugged. Suddenly Tank ran up to me and jumped on me, making me fall to the ground, losing grip of the sheet, revealing my banged up, bandaged body and horrifying face. - End of Your POV -
