'Where...am...I? Is... that smoke?'
.
My mind was scattered. I couldn't think straight. My body felt like lead and something warm was covering my chest. And my eyes felt heavy like something was weighing them down.
With great effort, I managed to open my eyes and what greeted me was my own version of hell.
My home, Oborodzuki Hikari dojo, was covered in smoke and the fire alarms were going off like crazy. I thought for sure that the dojo was on fire. After moving what was on me off and finding my way through the smoke, I found its source, the stirfry.
That's when the events that led up to this came rushing back into my mind. Master Shimatori started drinking then forced me and Master Ko to drink along with her. Master Ko managed to hold his liquor pretty well and covered for me so that I didn't drink. But he soon fell to the liquor effects and I was stuck dealing with a drunk Master Shimatori. It didn't take long for me to pass out after forgetting about the stirfry. Master Shimatori must have passed out soon after and left it unattended.
I just sighed as I went around dealing with the smoke and fire alarms, thanking my physiology that filtered out toxins extremely fast. So, not only was I unafraid of the smoke I was inhaling, but I was also losing the hangover I surely would have had if I had a normal body. Once the smoke and the fire alarms were dealt with, I looked down at myself and saw that I was soaked with what smelled like liquor.
.
"At least, nothing burned down," I mumbled and got to cleaning the kitchen.
.
As I cleaned, I didn't take notice that both of my masters were wide awake and were watching me. Soon, I got the entire kitchen cleaned and as I turned to wake up my masters, I saw them standing with a smile on their faces.
.
"Did I do something wrong?" I couldn't help but ask.
"No, if anything, you did well," Master Ko told me as Master Shimatori just smiled. "Usually, one would wake up their masters in a fit of panic if they found the kitchen like that. The fact that you failed to take into account our well-being..."
"Punishment~," Master Shimatori said in a sing-song voice.
.
My facepalm could be heard from the street. The fact that I had forgotten about them meant I was in for punishment training. Something I was careful not to get before. However, there was a silver lining that I could take to get out of it.
.
"But what about you two passing out drunk?" I pointed out, hoping to get them to look embarrassed by pointing out their flaws.
"Good try, but you're not getting out of your punishment," Master Shimatori stated as she looked at me with approval.
"Hai," I sighed as I resigned myself to my first-ever punishment. 'This is unbelievable.'
"Good, now go get your weights," Master Ko told me as he went to see if we needed anything from the store.
"But wait, what about Master Sho?" I asked the two of them before I left. "I thought he was coming here?"
"He's the one who's dealing with your punishment," Master Shimatori stated as she went to drink.
.
I shuddered. I haven't met the guy yet and I was already terrified of meeting him. But as soon as I returned to the Dojo's main area with my weights, I finally met the Grandmaster of the Dojo. It was also the day I learned just how far the gap in skill and experience was.
