The days leading up to the fabled meeting between Chief Ganondorf of the Gerudo and King Rauru of Hyrule were nothing short of anxious. Within the deserted residence of the Gerudo people, the day was bustling as within the palace, the guards and Ganondorf himself were making preparations for their departure to mainland Hyrule. Ever since the news of the upcoming meeting was broken to the townspeople, they've practically doubled their chore efforts to save time in aiding their chief for his long journey. Whether it was drastic, like ensuring food and water were in decent supply, or something more simple like tending to the horses and other transportation animals. A majority of the gerudo townsfolk took not even one rest to ensure maximum efficiency. Even the children and elderly were quick to aid anyone who needed it.

Moving to the palace itself, Ganondorf could be seen making his way out the main entrance, taking a deep breath of the warm morning air as his neutrally cold gaze watched the Gerudo people working on max cylinders. To most rulers, this would be something to take pride in for such unity and connection being proudly shown, but Ganondorf was nothing like other rulers. To him, this amount of effort was a standard that the Gerudo were both known for and expected to live up to. Making his way down the steps of the palace entrance, he began making his route around the town square to ensure all preparations were either completed or, at the absolute very least, on schedule.

To his mild delight, practically every response was either a stern nod or a proud "Yes, sir." . Out the corner of his eye, he spotted some familiar faces, that being Rivia and Namaiya, who were helping Rivia's vaba (grandmother) carry splashfruit and other fruits and supplies to the animals for the journey. The girls have been reported to have a newfound stern resolve ever since their conversation with the chief. The sight was an appealing thing to Ganondorf, who didn't realize until a slight pained sensation in his cheeks helped him figure out that he was smiling, genuinely smiling.. which seemed to be a common thing now with those girls.

You may be wondering how this is new. After all, he has smiled before, right? Not genuinely, no. Ganondorf has always been a cold and strict leader who keeps his emotions under a tight lock for the most part. He places a fine line between smiling and just flexing his cheeks upwards for appearance. It's a front he puts up to ensure his plans, whatever they may be, go smoothly. Right now though, he couldn't help but feel genuine pride. These times were rare, yet whenever they did occur.. he couldn't help but relish in the sweet, intoxicating aroma of pride that continuously emanated off of the gerudo.

"Your majesty." a voice behind him called out, wiping the smile right off his face in one clean swipe. Returning to his previously cold expression, he turned around to see one of his guards kneeling before him, her head bowed in respect.

"I am pleased to inform you that preparations for your departure are just about completed." She stated quickly and sternly. Ganondorf gave a slight nod to himself, letting out a huff through his nostrils as he mentally prepared himself for this journey and meeting. Closing his eyes, he rolled his shoulders in an attempt to ease out the stress. When he opened his eyes again, his gaze instantly fell upon the guard.

"Let the others know we're departing immediately." Ganondorf ordered, the guard nodding before returning to her feet, spinning on her heel and walking away. Ganondorf looked out past the entrance to the town, his cold gaze staring at nothing in particular. He didn't mention this to anyone, not the guards, his personal servants, not even the elders.. but despite the emotions tied to the journey ahead, Ganondorf felt slightly.... unsettled, from a dream he had the night before.. or rather.. a vision, one would call it.

Flashback, the night before.

Calm, that was the feeling the darkening skies and cooling temperatures brought to the people of the gerudo village. The sun was setting upon the desert mountains that surrounded the vast sandy terrain. The residents of the once active gerudo town had now begun settling into their homes, finishing their nightly chores before getting their well-deserved rest to prepare for the big day tomorrow.
