The vintage cafe, named "The Velvet Brew," exuded an old-world charm with its retro interior. The walls were adorned with framed black-and-white photographs from the 1930s, showcasing scenes of bustling streets and classic cars.

The lighting was warm and dim, casting a cosy glow over the wooden tables and plush velvet chairs. The counter, made of polished mahogany, displayed an array of antique coffee machines and jars filled with colourful candies.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, mingling with the sweet scent of pastries and freshly baked bread. As Nora stepped into the bustling cafe, she was greeted by the melodic tunes of instrumental jazz music playing softly in the background.

The sound of clinking glasses and cheerful chatter filled the air, creating a lively atmosphere. Nora's eyes scanned the crowded room, searching for her friends amidst the sea of people. Suddenly, she heard Agnes's voice cutting through the noise: "Nora, over here!" Agnes waved her hand enthusiastically, trying to catch Nora's attention.

Nora made her way through the crowd, carefully manoeuvring between the high bar stools and occupied tables. She couldn't help but notice the diverse group of patrons, each engrossed in their conversations or lost in their own thoughts. Finally reaching Agnes's table, Nora let out a sigh of relief.

"Agnes, you won't believe how packed it is in here! It feels like everyone in the city decided to come to The Velvet Brew today," Nora exclaimed, her voice slightly raised to be heard over the lively ambiance.Agnes chuckled, nodding in agreement.

"I know, right? But it's the perfect spot to catch up. Have a seat, Nora. We were just talking about our families." Nora settled into the comfortable velvet chair, taking in the vibrant atmosphere of the cafe. She couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia and warmth as she joined her friends in their lively conversation, embracing the charm of The Velvet Brew.

Anita leaned back in her chair, her eyes filled with curiosity as she listened to Nora's explanation. She took a sip of her coffee, savouring the rich flavour, before responding.

"Ah, the home library," Anita said, a hint of nostalgia in her voice. "I remember when he first set it up. It was like stepping into a different world, surrounded by shelves filled with books of all genres. It's such a cosy and inviting space."

Nora nodded, a fond smile playing on her lips. "Yes, it's his sanctuary. He spends hours lost on those pages, travelling to different worlds and immersing himself in knowledge. I think he finds solace in the quietness of that room."

Anita's eyes sparkled with interest as she leaned forward, her voice filled with intrigue. "Tell me, Nora, what books does he have in his collection? Are there any hidden gems or rare editions?"

Nora's face lit up, eager to share her husband's passion. "Oh, you wouldn't believe it! He has everything from classic literature to obscure philosophical texts. I often find myself getting lost on the shelves, discovering new authors and ideas. He's always on the lookout for rare editions, and he treasures each book like a precious artefact."

Anita's excitement grew, and her curiosity piqued. "Do you have a favourite book from his collection? Something that holds a special place in your heart?"

Nora's eyes gleamed with nostalgia as she reminisced. "There's a book of poetry that he gifted me on our first anniversary. It's a collection of love poems from different eras. Whenever I read it, it transports me back to that time, reminding me of the love and romance we share."

As they continued their conversation, the cafe buzzed with activity around them. The clinking of cups and plates, the soft murmur of conversations, and the gentle jazz music created a soothing backdrop to their intimate discussion. Anita leaned in closer, eager to hear more about Nora's husband's literary haven, as the two friends revelled in each other's company amidst the vintage charm of The Velvet Brew
