Chapter 3.- We regret to inform you that this concert is cancelled

On the evening of August 30, 2027, the troop led by Hans did as instructed in the last Neue Lösung meeting. The special group transported the third capsule to California and seeded the virus beginning in Venture Boulevard, near Studio City through the fake exhaust pipes. After a one-hour trip covering the most populated streets of Los Angeles, the troop drove back to New Mexico to take the plane home. A similar operation was executed in New York. Any main avenue in that city is a high density environment; a second troop, commanded by Friederich, disseminated part of the contents of the third ampoule through the 9th and Park Avenues with no problem, and then headed to the obvious objective that was Harlem. But the troop didn't had enough with that, they also carried the rest of the virus to the Soho.

At 6:35 p.m. in September 7, two patients were admitted in the Stony Brook Hospital in severe conditions, just to be pronounced dead later that day. One of these patients happened to be James Clover, a man who worked in the Jay-Z management group. Nine days before he was admitted in the hospital, he was doing business as usual in the company offices when the boss himself showed up to supervise some aspects of the organization management. After leaving the place, Jay-Z visited Rihanna in a Lower Manhattan flat where she was staying at that moment with A$AP Rocky and the couples' two children. They discussed the plans for the new Rihanna's 16-cities tour that would begin that month. The woman's best friend, Melissa Ford, was also present. After that, they all agreed to dinner at the 40/40 Club where the said celebrities met some other acquaintances related to music business.

In the morning of September 8, Rihanna noticed an unusual alteration in her skin. A tiny white spot on the right thigh. She didn't worry too much about that at the moment, but the next morning A$AP Rocky noticed it as they were rising up from bed. Plus, the woman began to experience some discomfort when breathing. So, they decided to go to the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Emergency doctors ordered a complete lungs exam and sent Rihanna to the Weill-Cornell center for skin examination. The chief dermatologist, Dr. Richard Granstein, decided to examine her himself due to the patient's celebrity status. The woman entered one of the rooms where the physician expected to see some vitiligo typical case and even gave instruction to prepare a photodynamic therapy session. At the moment Rihanna uncovered her skin, the nurses went open mouth: there were six white spots, perfectly round, distributed in both legs. Dr. Granstein called immediately to his colleagues in other states for consultation, inclusing some of them working in the CDC headquarters. Dr. Mandy Cohen, finally, released for him the Fulton Jail information.

The chief dermatologist was as alarmed as his Georgia colleague. Without stopping in theories about how this disease spread from the south to New York, he contacted the HHS to inform, with all the equanimity as possible, the situation. The HHS had been already acquainted with the Atlanta situation and recommended to isolate the patient and track the people who were in contact with her in the fast five days. Dr. Granstein talked to the Presbyterian director, Dr. Steven Corwin, who immediately activated the protocol and phoned the mayor.

Meanwhile, Rihanna's breathing condition worsened and A$AP Rocky began to experience the first symptoms. Both of them were isolated in separate ICU rooms in another section of the hospital and Dr. Corwin obtained a warrant to retain the man under sanitary custody. In the section, Rihanna began to shout asking for her children, while the man had to be bound to his bed by security personnel due to his attempts to leave the facility. The couple's two children were taken out from the school by the authorities and led to the Presbyterian to be placed in another room. Having heard the news that her children were safe, Rihanna called Melissa Forde to warned her about the facts. That was the last call she made in her life. Thirty minutes later she started to bleed internally, and after an hour to shake.

After receiving the call from Rihanna, Melissa Forde got a chill that ran from head to toes. But she was feeling physically well and so decided to take a cab to the Presbyterian to visit her BFF. When she arrived, some journalists were already at the scene. The moment she identified herself in the emergency reception desk, the nurse in charge set an alarm option in her computer screen and Forde was surrounded by security personnel, with some policemen added. Forde didn't know what was happening after she was took to the UCI and passed by Rihanna's bed. The singer's eyes and nose were bleeding literally like a pomegranate. Forde suffered a nervous break: doctors had to inject her clonazepam and confine her at once.
