Chapter 3: Uneasy Heart

I was about to dive deep in Gesy for the fifth time of this day, when suddenly Dion, my aide's voice rang from outside the door, telling me if it was emergency and needed my audience immediately.

I was shocked as there shouldn't be anymore problem now and the court was long over. So what happened?

Without any further delay, I stood up and started to get dressed.

Gesy slowly sat up from the bed and cover herself with her blanket, "Your Majesty-"

Before she could finish her words, I hushed her with a passionate kiss.

"Give me some time. There's an emergency as you heard. I'll be right back and continue from where I left tonight," I said as I watched her blush and nodded.

It's great to have an obedient woman beside me instead of that ruthless and cruel woman as my wife. Always scheming and harming others.

I sighed as it was a hopeless case now. As I know the rule made my late grear-grand father was that an emperor can only take one wife and only if that wife dies he can take another to keep peace in palace. Though I broke a part of that rule by keeping many women around me, but who asked my late father to impose such a cruel woman in my life.

I thought as I got up and exit only to come face to face with Dion and that ruthless woman's maid. Oh what an eyesore!

That woman must be the one wanting an audience of mine and she might also be the 'emergency' mentioned by Dion.

I glared at him as he should have said it was that woman's matter and dealt with her himself instead of summoning me. Ugh! Now I have to speak with this filth.

"What is it?" I asked as I'm really frustrated with this woman and my untimely turned off.

"Your Majesty, Her Majesty wants an audience of yours. Please visit her this time, Your Majesty."

It was Dion's voice and I was shocked to hear his plea for that woman.

What happened here? Why is Dion requesting for her?

"Dion, you know I don't have much time to waste on her. And you," I pointed at the old lady, "Say her that I'm busy. I can't-"

And before I could finish, the old woman knelt down in front of me and begged, "Please, Your Majesty. Please visit the empress for one last time. Please. Take this as her last request to you, Your Majesty."

She bowed her head and almost touched my feet if I hadn't moved away due to strong reflexes.

Irritatingly, I looked at Dion and signed him to stop this crazy lady from doing anything further. Just how could she, a senior in age, kneel and bow in front of me? I'm not that bad and cruel as she's making me.

Dion understood and tried to help  her but refused to budge and kept on kneeling, "Please, Your Majesty. Visit h
Her Majesty one last time. Have mercy, on that poor soul."

Poor soul? And that woman?

Hmph! I see. So this is her new scheme. As she well of know I resoect the elderly as she's using this as her advantage. To force me to see her ugly scheming face.

But whatever! I won't go.

So without any further word, I left.

But what happened next shocked me. When I was a little far away, I heard their lityle convesrsation. They might have thought that I had left. But I was still there.

"Kesine, you should get up. His Majesty left already."

"No, I won't. This is the little thing O can do for my poor child so that her soul can rest in peace."

"Kesine, you should listen to me. His Majesty left already and he won't come back."

"Dion, why is His Majesty is so cruel to that poor soul? Why? She loved him so much in all her life, why can't he see it? It's just her last wish to see him, can't he even fulfill that?"

"Kesine, you should go now. You should cherish the every moments you have with her. Don't waste your time here."

Huh?! Love and that woman?! What a joke?!

If her scheming is love according to her, then I love her more. But what us with those words? Last wish?! Cherish every moments with her? What is that woman up to again?!

But somehow I feel so uneasy... Their words... what do they mean?

Is something wrong with that woman?! Oh no! Just what am I thinking?! How could anything happen to that bull of a woman who can create numerous problems?!

I must be overthinking it!!

But still I couldn't come down.

"Your Majesty, you came back already," I heard Gesy's surprise voice and only then I realised am already in her room.

"I'll meet you again tomorrow. Behave till then," I don't know why I said that but with those words I left the place and went outside again.

I sported Dion at the corner and informed him while walking, "We're visiting the Empress."

Oh Woman, what are you up to this time? Why is my heart so uneasy for you today?!
