The alarm clock buzzes with no thought that maybe the person sleeping in bed might not want to ever wake up again. That buzz is not an alarm, it's a blatant laugh that says "wake up you need to make money!" Thank you for the reminder.
It's amazing how much you can think about in those few moments as you try to wake up. Thousands of images fly through your brain as it tries to figure out what's going on. What day is it? Which job am I working today? Do I need to buy more milk? What's the point? Remember when life was easier? "Wake up you need to make money!"
I wish I could invent a time machine, and go back to when the worst thing I had to worry about was what would happen to Superman next Saturday. Go back to when mom would sing me to sleep or dad would read a story. We used to dream of outer space- The mocking voice of the alarm clock screams "Wake up you need to make money!"
I'm insecure and I care what you think, don't think I'm lazy cause I'm tired of working three jobs. What happens if I lose one? What if I can't pay the rent and I get kicked out? I love a girl, but what if I'm not good enough. What if she likes me, but I can't pay to feed the two of us? So I guess I'll never get married and I'll never have a life, just three jobs and a two room apartment. "Wake up you need to make money!"
"Wake up you need to make money!" Sometimes you find that smell, you don't know what is it or where it's coming from, but it's made of pure memories and flashbacks. It reminds you of when life was easy. If it was possible you would make a candle out of that smell and sell it. But sadly, it won't pay the rent. You'd probably end up only selling one. Your brother would buy it and he'd be the only one, cause you were borne of the same mother, raised in the same home, you have the same nose. And you both hear the constant screaming: "Wake up you need to make money!"
You had a treehouse, just a stone's throw away from your favorite creek, you used to spend all day there, skipping rocks and splashing around in the water. Treehouse homes, you had no clue what student loans were. But now you're stressed out, and you've wasted too much time thinking. "Wake up you need to make money!"
You turn off the alarm clock, get dressed, eat breakfast, and drive to work. But you'll be back where you started tomorrow morning...
