"What?! What is it?" Leslie woke up with a sharp gasp.

"I'm dead." Scarlet stared at the screen hard as though it would help to erase the picture.

"What did you do?" Leslie sniffed, wiping her nose with the back of her hand.

"What did I do?!" Scarlet ran her fingers through her hair, "I sent my fucking tits to my boss," she stopped to think, "well, my ex boss."

"What? How drunk were you?" Leslie chuckled, hopping out of bed.

Scarlet's eyes follow her best friend, arching an eyebrow, "I don't understand, what's funny about it?"

"I don't know," Leslie took a shot of hangover medicine, "it's unlike you, even drunk."

"I don't know what I was thinking," Scarlet groaned, "well this seals the fact that I quit my job, I hate you, how could I have taken such a rational decision to quit my job?"

"Shut up, you've worked your ass so hard that you have enough money to retire for life."

"Still I can't just quit my job like it's nothing?! What am I supposed to do with the rest of my days?"

Leslie came to hold her shoulders, "relax miss girl, just take a break for once, live life, you're only twenty five, Cain was an asshole and everyone knows it."

"I.. I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything," she rolled her eyes, turning Scarlet to face her reflection in the mirror.

Scarlet stared at herself.

She was curvy in all the right places, had long rose gold hair, beautiful emerald eyes, the perfect pink luscious full lips, and a pretty nose.

She didn't remember the last time she appreciated her beauty, she was always stuck in Cain Stones' ass.

"You're right," she nodded, "fuck this."

She sighed, "well it's not like I can go back there to face him after yesterday, even if I had a choice."

"Period. We're going to set you on a date, on an actual relationship where you're actually involved in it."

"I was involved with Sam," Scarlet lied earning an eye roll from Leslie.

"Indeed, so involved you didn't even care enough to cry about his betrayal."

"Well..." Scarlet started to say in her defence when her phone beeped beside her.

Both ladies stared at the phone blankly.

Scarlet picked it up, "it's Cain."

"What's he saying?"

"He texted me, he says that if I'm going to quit, I need to come clear my desk now."

"Well?"

"Shit, I didn't think about that, how do I give him context the image wasn't meant for him."

Leslie had a devious smirk on her face, "I don't know, how will you tell him?"

"Why are you smiling? This isn't funny?"

"I never thought I would see my best friend seem so panicked by a man."

"What does that mean?"

Scarlet groaned, despite herself, her face was blushing a deep crimson color.

"It means, maybe you want Cain to believe those pictures were meant for him."

"Are you nuts?!"

"Oh shut it Scarlet, you think I don't know, your body isn't made out of wood, everyone would kill to get in Cain's bed, what makes you so immune?"

"He's my goddamned boss!"

"Was!"

"You're not helping!"

Leslie plopped down on her bed, "well everyone fears you for your professionalism but I'm your best friend Scar, I see beyond those cold walls you put up," Leslie pulled a finger out to her chest.

Scarlet's phone beeped in her hands, another text from Cain, 'You need to clear it now. My new secretary should be here soon.'

Scarlet felt a hurt in her heart.

Yes she quit but how could he replace her so easily?

"He'll never find another secretary like me who can put up with his ass." She confirmed to herself.

"Hmm, why would you care anyway?" Leslie teased.

"I don't! In fact, I'm going to pull up there right now, clear my desk and act like none of this ever happened."

"That's my girl, and when you get back, we're going shopping and living our lives, no jobs, no men."

"You don't have a job since your grandfather spoils you with his wealth, and you just told me to explore a new genre of men," Scarlet rolled her eyes, getting rid of her clothes and disappearing into the shower.

"I meant for tonight!" Leslie defended.

She came out a few minutes later, put her hair up in a ponytail, patted on some makeup, and dressed up in a white office shirt tucked into a black skirt like she'd normally wear.

Clank in her heels, she was out of her apartment to clear her desk.

"Save all the details for me?" Leslie called as Scarlet pulled out of her driveway heading to work.

Scarlet took a deep breath in at the entrance of the huge skyscraper.

She exhaled and her work face was on.

She was a different person at work, people nicknamed her frozen stone because of how married she was to her job and despite her nervousness she must retain that image.

Her composure flew up as the elevator stopped on the fifteenth floor, where her boss' office was.

She stepped into his office, and there he was, leaned back comfortably into his chair, a pen playing between two of his fingers, while the devil looked as handsome as--- snap out of it she thought.

His eyes immediately flickered onto hers at her entrance and they stayed there until she broke eye contact.

She nodded in acknowledgement and even as she felt his eyes following her steps as she made her way to her desk, she tried not to act moved in the least.

It wasn't until she heard his approaching footsteps that she turned around, only, it was too late, he was right behind her, her chest almost coming in contact with his.

She had no choice but to bear herself backwards, but he continued to inch closer, stopping only after her back had collided with the wall.

He placed his hands on each side of her head, his eyes boring into her own.

For the first time ever, she felt so oddly small next to him, holding her breath so he wouldn't hear her racing heart.

"That's unprofessional of you, quitting without writing a proper resignation letter."

"So I'll do that then," she said, her voice cracking a little.

"Really?" He lowered his head so he could be closer to her height.

She could practically feel his hot breath fanning her face, "that's not going to happen," his deep voice vibrated through her chest.

"Why not?" She croaked.

"Because, Miss Miller, I'm not planning on letting you go," he paused to add, "ever."
