He was pulling her out of there.

"What's gotten into you?" She asked him with a frown once they were outside.

He let go of her, running his fingers through his ruffled hair.

"That's Alson, he's a bastard, he doesn't run from anyone in a skirt."

"Okay?" She furrowed her brows, "that still doesn't really give you the right to call me yours? You don't think that's going a little too far Mr Stones?"

"If I didn't, he wouldn't let go of you."

"I'm not sure it should be your problem, let me decide who or who I don't want to talk to."

"Talk? Alson is never interested in talking, all he wants is a woman to fuck."

"Okay, so what's it to you who I fuck? I think you might be overstepping your boundaries."

"I shouldn't have brought you here, it was a mistake," he said, looking a bit tense.

She frowned, "Mr Stones aren't you overreacting a little?"

He reached into his pocket, pulling out a wad of cash, "here take a taxi back to the hotel."

She frowned at him, "I'm not some cheap slut you'd just pay away."

He noticed the way her brows pulled together in anger and shook his head fast, "I didn't mean it that way, I just... I can't deal with it just imagining him touching you or anything at all."

"Are you telling me you're jealous right now?"

"I didn't mean it that way."

She ignored him and his money offer, pulling a cab over.

"Miss Miller?" He called with a sigh but she was out of sight.

"And so you took the next flight home?"

"Yup," Scarlet told Leslie.

"Girl, that was your chance."

"Chance at what?" Scarlet groaned, hugging a stuffed bear from her ex boyfriend.

"You stopped, why?"

"I don't know, I'm not ready to get into another relationship just like that."

"Relationship? A one night stand would be great, you'd confirm the news if he's great in bed or not."

"Leslie, I'm not looking for a fling, I've learnt from my last relationship, I want to be committed to one on the long run, Cain wants nothing but lust."

Leslie smirked, "at least on the long run, we have now confirmed that your charm truly works on all men."

"What does that mean?"

"I thought your boss was made of wood but he's clearly also attracted to you like every one and their mama."

"Leslie, you need to chill, it's so awkward now, I really want to quit but can't until he gets a replacement for me."

"Okay fine," Leslie sighed, "since there's no future with your boss, what if I find you a better replacement, an actual serious one although I'm not sure anyone can top Cain that easily."

"How?"

"A blind date."

"And how do you plan on doing that?"

"Just leave it to me."

The next day at work, Cain wasn't there when Scarlet got to the office.

She went to make herself some coffee when her phone rang, it was a call from Leslie.

She placed the phone between her ear and shoulder while making her coffee.

"Hey, Les, what's up?"

"Okay so I found you a blind date."

"What? It's not even been a full day."

"I told you I had my ways."

"I'm not sure I want to go on a blind date so easily, cancel it."

"I can't cancel it."

"What do you mean you can't cancel it?"

"I already booked the restaurant and everything, you'll love it."

Scarlet rolled her eyes, "I hate you so much, but it's fine, text me the address."

"Yay!"

Scarlet put her phone down, turning on her heels to leave with her coffee.

She didn't expect to see Cain Stones standing behind her, barely inches away.

She almost stumbled backwards but he caught her wrist although she'd spilled all of her coffee on her shirt.

"Shit!" She groaned.

"Hey, are you okay?"

"No, it's so hot!"

He hurriedly took off his suit and wrapped it around her before pulling her hand, taking her to the closest bathroom.

"Thanks, I'll take it from here," she began to clean off the stain, "why did you sneak up on me like that?"

"I wanted to get coffee, I was also looking for you, why weren't you at the hotel?"

"I came back home, I didn't see a need to stay back, you could have called me if you needed coffee."

"I'm sorry about..."

"Mr Stones, let's not make things awkward and stick to nothing but work."

He pocketed his hands and nodded at her.

"Thanks for this," she took his suit off and left the bathroom, ignoring the stares from those outside when Cain stepped out after her.

At the end of the day, Cain tried not to look at her but it was hard.

He needed to come up with something new to prevent her from that blind date. He had been upset when he overheard her phone conversation.

Why on earth do I even care right now? He groaned internally.

He watched with anxiety, tapping his foot against the ground as she packed up her work, picking up her handbag.

"I'm leaving Mr Stones, do you need anything else?"

He was starstruck as she pushed her hair out of her face, fuck she was so beautiful, those pretty eyes and lips.

"In fact," he moved his spinning chair forward, "I do, I need these files sorted out, by tonight."

She widened her eyes, "what?! That's over five hundred files."

He raised a brow, "are you complaining?"

She forced a smile, "of course not, I'll get to it right away."

"So go ahead," he nodded her off.

She checked the time on her phone, if she could get it done in an hour, she could still make it in time for her blind date.

She picked the files up, heading to her desk.

"Bingo," Cain smiled to himself.
