Highschool DxD: A Champion for the Weak

Part Three - Noticed

I was sitting on the roof with Caera, mostly as this was the one place we could get away from everyone while I "explained" things to her under the teacher's wishes. However, she already knew everything, so she and I were just having a nice lunch together. However, we were barely minutes into lunch when, to my surprise, Rias, Akeno, and Sona came onto the roof and made a beeline to Caera and I. Caera asked, "Did you do something?" I responded, concerned, "No, I didn't. Did they figure out we're not human?" Caera just replied, "Act normal, we should be fine." When they approached, Rias spoke, "Are you Arthur?" I nodded, "Yes ma'am, what seems to be the problem?" Sona pushed her glasses up, "We want to ask you about Issei Hyoudou, I believe you noticed how strange everyone, including himself, have been acting recently, correct?" 

I raised a brow, "Yes, certainly. For some reason, he was considered a pervert when he really wasn't, then, all of a sudden after the break, it was like it all came true. How could he change that much in only a month or so?" Akeno put a hand to her cheek, "I see, so we weren't seeing things." I stood up, my concern was rising, were they the reason for this, or were they also just as confused. I knew I could probably handle Akeno if I risked it, but not Rias or Sona, and I was ready to make a run for it if they were. Sona seemed to pick up my caution, she waved me off, "Calm down, we're not going to do anything to you, to be honest, we're quite confused about this as well." I was now more confused than before, why ask me here of all places, why not do it elsewhere? I know this is like their home base in a sense, but it was still plenty risky. 

I asked, "So... you don't know why he had such a sudden personality shift?" Rias responded, "No, but it's strange enough that it was enough for some of us to notice." Caera stood up, "Was this Issei individual not such a pervert before I came here?" Each of us, in tandem, said, "No." This shocked not just Caera, but all of us. I felt a tinge of power, not like the devils I was currently surrounded by, but a fallen. I began to look around, why was a fallen angel here? But when I looked to the school gate, I noticed a familiar looking girl, Raynare, but she was disguised. But that's when I noticed something, each of them were disguising their power, yet I could still feel it, was I just sensitive to the power of others? Sona walked over, "What was that? Are you alright Arthur?" I said, "I felt like someone was looking at me, I think my feeling led me to find them, them." I pointed to Raynare, who was now walking away, Sona said, "Huh. Well, it's likely nothing. Don't let it get to you." 

When I looked back, Rias was looking between me and Caera, "You two, your both not human, aren't you?" I panicked, but it was a silent panic, I didn't know what to say. Sona seemed surprised, "Rias, what are you doing?" Akeno said, "Miss Sona, don't bother trying to play dumb, Arthur hasn't gotten control over masking his power yet." Caera sighed, "Well, that didn't work." I sighed, "Well, I already knew you three were devils, so it's not like we all don't have some blackmail on each other now." This seemed to knock them off their somewhat high high horse. I just sat down and began to eat again, when they just looked to me, I said, "What? I know two of you are related to the four great satans, mostly not to piss you off or get on your bad side." Caera seemed to understand we should eat and sat down to eat. I looked to them, they were still staring at me, I patted the ground, "Sit, if you don't eat, you'll have to wait until you go home."

For some reason, they accepted the invitation to sit down, as they also had their lunch on hand to eat. I looked from their food to them, but went back to my food. Rias said, "You seem confident that we won't do anything." I replied, "I'm not, I just know I ain't winning if I try anything." Caera replied to that with, "You are really weird, I would have been panicking in your shoes." I looked to her, "Who says I'm not panicking? I'm just good at hiding it." I took a sip of my drink, "They could kill me with a thought right now, or get their brother or sister to do it. Either way, I'm no match for them in any way right now." I looked to Rias, "I'm going to be clear, you, Rias Gremory, need to recruit Issei Hyoudou to your peerage." I got confused looks from everyone, but I wasn't going to explain, "Trust me, keep an eye on him, he's someone special." As much as I'd want him on my side, there was no way I'd take him with this pervy side of him.
