When Crys got home, she excitedly rushed upstairs and over to Brandon's room. She stood in the doorway, smiling. "Mind if I come in?" She asked happily.
Brandon looked over at Crys. She looked genuinely happy. It was the first time in a long time that she looked like that. It made him happy to see her so happy. "I'd love that." He said with a smile of his own.
Crys walked on in with a newfound pep in her step. She sat down on the edge of Brandon's bed.
"So you took the cure?" Brandon asked.
"Yeah." Crys said. "I did. I'm normal again. No more werewolf."
Brandon nodded a little. He was a bit sad that there wouldn't be anymore werewolf adventures. No more fluffy hugs or gallivanting. It'd be a bit less interesting than it had been... but at the same time, Crys was happy. She was genuinely happy. Maybe now she wouldn't feel so much guilt over everything. Maybe it was for the best.
"So," Crys said, "do you maybe want to watch a movie?"
"I'd love to." Brandon replied.
The two of them got up and migrated over to the couch, putting on a movie and sitting right up next to each other. They were happy.
The next day, it was back to school. Crys was up right on time and out of bed without a fuss. She made her way through her normal routine, cheery as could be, eventually making her way off to school with Brandon by her side.
Brandon smiled, overjoyed that Crys was finally happy. He could hardly believe that she was herself again. That part worried him a little, though. Such a drastic change in just a day was outright concerning. There really wasn't any other way to put it. He wasn't going to say that though. For now, he was ignoring that worry, just happy to have his friend back.
Crys, meanwhile, wasn't thinking of much. Her mind was finally empty for once. She was perfectly content with the feeling of being free. It was odd to her, though, not having to worry about being a werewolf anymore. No more gallivanting. No more sitting atop random buildings to clear her head. No more villains or fighting or being a vigilante. Nothing. She wasn't exactly aware of it at the moment, but she didn't really know what to do anymore. She didn't know how to be "normal". Regardless, for now, she just kept walking, blissfully unaware of any of that.
Upon arriving at school, Crys and Brandon navigated the day just like they used to, going through all the typical motions. Eventually they got to lunch where they sat down with Tomas and Emma who were both shocked seeing Crys smile again.
"Hey guys." Crys said cheerfully.
"Hey." Tomas said plainly as he munched on his lunch. He paused for a moment to think about who just greeted him then looked up to see Crys, happy as could be, sitting across from him. He wanted to ask Crys about the sudden mood swing, but he couldn't find the words.
"You seem much happier today, Crys." Emma commented.
"I am." Crys smiled. "I don't have to worry about anything anymore."
"In a sense." Emma said, mostly to herself. She was still pondering a question she had thought of yesterday night, but she didn't want to worry Crys or ruin her mood.
Tomas looked around the table. "What do you mean?" He asked innocently.
"Hm?" Crys asked.
"Don't tell me I've been left out again." Tomas said in sheer disappointment. "More secrets?"
"Not secrets." Emma said. "This only happened yesterday, and I suppose Crys had forgotten to tell you."
"So how do you know?" Tomas asked back, a little hurt.
