Phon slammed his phone down onto the bedside table, he had woken up and called Kao straight away and had been worrying about him so much while he was quite happily drinking with is ex wife and sleeping in her house while they called each other pet names.

He was so fucking pissed off, Kao had told him he was going away on business, what business was that exactly?

He grabbed his laptop and used his KJS security code to get into the database before typing in Kao's name as he had done several months ago but this time he wanted the name of his ex-wife, it took him a little time but he finally found it, Mrs Nia Kappanajong.

Clicking on her name he had her age, date of birth and there was also an address for a brownstone property in Brooklyn Heights NY. It also listed her parents in Thailand and other irrelevant information, a few speeding tickets, nothing exciting.

After jotting down the information he needed Phon logged out and sat back to think about his options, he could either sit here and cool his heels until Kao came back or he could get his ass over there and ... and what exactly.

He should be trusting Kao and he did but then again ... he'd seen how Kao behaved under the influence of alcohol, would Kao be angry with him if he turned up uninvited?

Fuck it, he had time off work, he was going to go and let the chips fall where they may. He had about 80,000.00 bht in savings and a return flight to New York would eat a big chunk of that so he had to hope that Kao would let him stay with him when he found him.

He went on the internet and booked the next flight out there then began packing, this had to be the craziest fucking thing he had ever done in his existence, for a start his mastering of the English language was passable at best but he'd get by.

By 9.30am he was showered, packed and ready to go and he hadn't even eaten yet, he would grab something at the airport and by this time tomorrow he would be with his Kao.

Making sure everything was turned off and his condo was secure, he called a cab to take him to the airport and after taking one last look around, he took a deep breath and went outside to wait for the cab.

Meanwhile in Brooklyn, NY Kao was sitting in his room and wondering whether or not to call Phon. He felt unsettled with how the call had gone earlier and imagined how he would have felt if he'd called and heard Phon drinking and having fun with an ex.

He scrolled through his contact list and when he found Phon's name he pressed the button but the call could not be connected, strange?

He tried again and the same thing happened so he decided to leave it for a while. When he had informed Phon that he was coming to the states on business he had acted impulsively out of spite when in truth he hadn't really wanted to come.

He had pushed himself into a corner because of his big mouth and now he was thousands of miles away from Phon and it was all his own fault.

What if he got back and Phon didn't want to be with him anymore, what if he thought he was more trouble than he was worth or what if he got back and Phon had met someone else like Chai Son had?

Regardless of what happened it was his own doing and he would have to live with the consequences, Phon had been right about him running away every time things got difficult and coming back here was a prime example.

Nia had made him understand that Phon hadn't actually done anything wrong, he still wanted to date him but he just needed to get back to his condo and work for clients who needed protection, people who lives really were in danger and Kao should be proud of him instead of trying to keep him shackled to his side.
