The Devil's Duckling (Lucifer x Reader)

Chapter 4

I wake up and check my phone to see that it is 8am. Finally I woke up at a good time. I had woken up at 2am with a horrible headache and when I fell back asleep I managed to stay asleep this whole time. My headache is thankfully gone, sleep was just what I needed.

I look down at my phone again and I see a text from Lucifer. Oh, right I forgot I texted him last night for a second. But wait, he actually replied?

"Hi Y/n, you caught me on my day off of doing important things, if you would like you could come over here with Charlie, I find you interesting and would love to talk to you more, I have to admit I had a bit of a staring problem yesterday, but you did too don't think that I didn't see your face, you could come by at 1pm if that works out for you and Charlie."

I feel my face get hot as I read the message. I'm having mixed feelings about this message.

Weirded out: Why would he invite a lowlife sinner to his mansion or whatever it is?

Flustered: He finds me interesting? And I did see him stare at me a lot, but he admitted it?

Embarrassed: Does that mean he saw me staring at him a bunch and he saw me blush?

I turn off my phone and set it on the bed. I have to get my mind off of that for a bit. I still have to see if Charlies busy today, I'm not but she may have something planned for today. I hope she doesn't because that's like a once in a lifetime chance to be able to meet someone with that much power. I wonder if Charlie felt this when she got a meeting in Heaven.

I get up out of bed and my vision goes black for a second and my body goes tingly. I must have stood up too fast. I sit back down for a minute to regain my vision. I stand back up and change into something casual and comfy, but still looks nice.

I walk out of my room and bump right into Angel Dust. We both fall to the ground and he quickly gets up first and helps me up. "I was just about to wake you up, Charlie wants to talk to us all." I nod and we walk downstairs together.

"Good morning everyone, in case you didn't hear, the exterminators are coming back in 6 months instead of a year, and I was told at the meeting that they're coming here first." Everyone gasps at what Charlie said.

"I will be gone for the day, so will Alastor and Vaggie, we have a plan, but until we do what we need to we aren't going to tell you all what we are doing, I just wanted to let you know that us three will be gone." I feel my heart drop. If she won't be here today, then I won't be able to see Lucifer.

Charlie takes in a deep breath, puffing out her chest and then the three leave the hotel. Well I guess I'll text Lucifer and let him know today won't work. Now it's probably going to turn into I won't see that handsome face again. Or wait ugh I keep thinking about the oddest things.

I walk up to my room and faceplant on my bed. I grab my phone and sigh.

"Hey, I don't think today will work, Charlie's going to be gone for the day."

I send the message and see the three dots pop up. That was fast, he must really have nothing better to do.

"That's fine, you can still come over around 1, if you can find my place that is ;)."

I slam my phone on the bed and jump up off of my bed. If I am going to find his mansion thing then I better leave now. But what was with that winky face?

I practically bolt out of my room and the hotel. I feel a rush of adrenaline and tune out everything around me. I only care about finding his house.

I walk around searching for what feels like hours. I reach in my pocket and realize I left my phone at the hotel. It's too late now.
