Tension

Chapter 4

I'm about to enter gym class when I hear my name being called from behind me. I was my friend Ava. what is she doing here? She doesn't have gym. 

" Y/n Y/n Y/n!!!" Ava said running up to me. 

" What! What! What!" I said mocking her energy. 

" My schedule got changed and now i have gym with youuu!!!" She said excitedly while walking into gym with me. 

" Omg!!! Yes! I literally have no friends in this class. Thank god your here now." I said while walking with her giving her a side hug. 

We then put our stuff on the bleachers and i went to my spot. Ava then got her spot and sat there. We had the same gym teacher so thats good. But she's not sitting by me sadly. 

" Dont we have to do the workouts on the board?" Ava says across the room to me. 

I can't read lips but  I was able to understand what she said. 

I nodded and we got up to do the workouts on the board. It said to do two laps around the gym and then 15 jumping jacks. 

Ava and I were running then had to stop and wait for Paige and Azzi to walk by. I started blushing due to Paige. 

" Oooo does someone have a crush of Bueckerss!!?!?" Ava says with a flirty tone. 

I rolled my eyes. 

" Shut up." I said laughing. 

We then finished our two laps and went back to our spots to do the jumping jacks. 

" Okay class today were going to be starting Ultimate Frisbee." 

Ava and I looked at each other and smiled. Both of us have loved playing Ultimate Frisbee with our friend group for years. 

" Okay now get into your partners and toss the Frisbee to your partner. Your partner then needs to catch the Frisbee in a alligator bite kind of form." The teachers both explained. 

Ava and I then got our Frisbee and were told where to play. Ava and I were playing with ease when all of a sudden Paige and Azzi came up beside us and started playing. Paige and I were on the same side while Azzi and Ava were in front of us. Ava looked at paige then back at me and smiled. 

" Stop" I said without actually talking. 

Ava laughed and tossed me the Frisbee. Guess what happend... OMGGG. Ava tossed the Frisbee and it hit Paiges side hip. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. 

" Oww!" Paige said sarcastically while handing me the Frisbee. 

" Sorry about that." I said giving her a smile. 

" Dont worry about it." She said smiling back at me. 

I then walked back over to Ava.

" AVA! Why would you do that?!" I  said laughing at the embarrassment. 

" Hey! I'm making memories for you to think about in your room later." Ava said laughing between her words. 

" Okay bud." I replied rolling my eyes while heading back to my spot. 

Time skip*

I'm sitting in my 5th period right now next to Paige and Katy. Paige had her head down and was sleeping with her face towards me. I kept catching myself looking at her. She's so cute I can't. All of the sudden the phone rang. 

" If it's Mrs.Jacobs calling again oh my gosh." Mrs. Layhew said annoyed. 

" Okay, mhm, alright bye bye." Mrs layhew said hanging up the phone. 

" Paige." Mrs. Layhew stated. 

Paige didn't wake up. Gosh she's really tired. 

" Y/n will you wake her up please?" The teacher asked. 

I nodded and rubbed Paige's shoulder making her look at me and wake up. 

" Hm?" She asked me. 

" Your being dismissed Paige. Y/n will you take the key and walk her out to the door to let her in please, thank you!" Mrs. Layhew said then went back to the whiteboard. 

I nodded and stood up to go get the key that was hanging on the wall. I was waiting beside paige while she packed up her stuff. 

Once she got all packed up we walked out and started walking to the door that leads back inside the building. It's so quiet. All Paige and I could hear was our footsteps and the birds chirping. 

We then got to the door and I put the little key pad on the black box that beeps when the door is unlocked. For some reason It wasn't working. Oh come on you little shit. I kept trying but It wasn't working. 

" You wanna try?" I asked handing Paige the key. 

" Sure." Paige said with a cute tired voice. 

She was trying to open the door when all of the sudden I hear people laughing and running towards Paige and I . 

Paige and I looked back in sync and just stared at them. I then looked back at Paige giving her a smile in confusion. She then looked down at me with a confused smirk on her face. 

" Bro Paige hurry up." I say laughing next to her as she looks at my back laughing. 

Paige was trying to get the door open but it wouldn't budge. 

Suddenly one of the girls from the ela class came and she magically got the door open. 

Paige and I looked at each other shocked. Paige then caught the door before it can close and then handed me the key. We accidently touched hands but didn't mention it. 

" Bye." Paige said nicely. 

" Bye." I said calmly. 

I then walked up back to the classroom trying to not smile. I can't believe I just had that one on one interaction with her.
