"Dear diary, Me and Edot are on good terms right now. I'm really happy, I love Elijah He's my everything. I love his personality, his eyes, His lips, His voice, Everything. His personality though, When you're around him you're always happy, His happiness is contagious. He always give off a good vibe you rarely see him in a bad mood I hope I never loose him. I also love my dad and my older brother. Even though they're both dead I hope they're proud of me even when i do bad. I'm thankful for Amari he's my second dad he makes sure i eat when moms gone. I'm thankful for mom she always keep a happy face but deep down i know she want to cry. She haven't been the same since dad died , She said she didn't want to move on some months ago, But now she has a boyfriend. He's nice but he's not like dad."
I closed my journal before getting up I walked to my mirror looking at myself in the mirror. Today was the two year anniversary of my dad and brother dying. I took a deep breath before grabbing my phone walking to my moms room but, she wasn't in their.
"Ma." I said before hearing a toilet lid close from her bathroom.
"Mommy." I said opening her bathroom door to see her about to brush her teeth.
"Did you throw up again." I asked her cause she been sick for some days.
"Yeah." She said.
"I think you're pregnant." I blurted out.
"I'm not baby I'm just sick." She said before brushing her teeth.
"Yeah I feel kinda sick too." I said. "Well I'm bout to go to the thing for Dad and brother I'll be home soon." I said before leaving her room going down stairs to Mari. "You ready." I asked him.
"Yea." He said before throwing me a shirt with our dad and brother on it. He grabbed his keys before me and him walked out. He unlocked his car and we got in and drove to the block.
The blocked was packed, It was people everywhere It was music blasting. It was elders, grown ups, kids, and baby's.
"You gon get out." Mari said. I got out before walking around before looking for people i knew.
"Wassup." Maribel said before hugging me.
"Hey." I said.
"Man they so ghetto playing this bullshit at a candle light." She said making a mean face because of the drill songs playing.
"You gon put the shirt on." She asked referring to the shirt Mari gave me that was hanging over my shoulder.
"Yeah." I said before putting it on over my crop top before someone wrapped their harms around me making me turn and hug Edot back.
"Wassup ma." He said before going n for the kiss but i dogged it.
"Damn ma." He said making a mad face.
"Pa I don't feel good i can't kiss you." I said before wrapping my arms around his torso.
"I love you." He said to me.
"I love you too." I said.
"Y'all are cute and all but please stop." Maribel said as Jaylee walked up and snatched me away from dotty.
"Hey bae." She said hugging me.
"Yo chill." Edot said.
"Yoooo." Sha said walking up with a bunch of our friends being loud as fuck.
"Shut your bird ass up." Maribel said.
"You Lani get your friend." Sha said before hugging me.
"You is loud as fuck." I said as we pulled apart.
"Glazing." He said.
"Wassup." Dee said before hugging me.
"Hey." I said hugging seeing Dudeylo. It was still awkward since that night at the party.
"Hey." He said awkwardly.
"Hi." i said.
"Yooo." Bloodie said hugging me.
"Wassup." I said playing with his afro.
"Where the food at." Ddot greedy ass said.
"Over there." Notti said pointing before hugging me.
"Hey Notti." I smiled hugging him back.
"Wassup ma heart." He said.
"You came late it's time to eat." Edot said grabbing my hand taking me to where they were cooking. "What you want mama." He said grabbing a paper plate off the table.
"Nothing really." I said looking around.
"You need to eat." He said grabbing my arm putting foods on my plate.
"Fine." I said walking away looking for forks.
"Yoo." Someone said hugging me
"I already got the fork." He said making me walk back to him. We walked and found a chair he sat down and i sat down on his leg. "Open your mouth." He said holding the fork to by face making me grab the fork myself and eat it.
"Ion want this." I said putting the fork on his plate. "Did you eat nigga." I asked.
"Yeah." He said standing up making me stumble back a little bit.
"I really don't wanna be here." I said getting on Edot's back cause i didn't wanna walk.
"Oh it's time to do the candles." Edot said walking over to the candles.
We both grabbed a candle lighting it up before waiting for everyone else to grab one. I looked at the bricked wall to see people spray painting a picture of my dad and my brother. Once everyone had a candle we let go of it at the same time, the candles floating up. A lump formed in my throat making me cry.
We started hearing yelling and we looked back to see a nigga with his head out his car window arguing with Dee. Dudey Ek Keem and Notti stepped behind Dee grabbing him so they could stop arguing at this point edot was holding on to my arm tight. The boy in the car pulled out a gun making Dee pull one out too the crowd of people gasping. Dee threw the first shot missing making other people get out the car shooting. "Baby go to the car now." Edot said pushing me lightly. It was a big crowd of people running making it hard for me cause I was getting pushed. Someone pushed me trying to get away making me fall on my face.
