Rich's pov
I've never met Adele's mom nor have I met any of her family other than Angelo. So to say I was shocked when she told me she wanted me to come with her is an understatement.
I was really expecting just her and Angelo going to London but I'm kinda glad that I get to go with them. At the end of the day my girlfriend needs me.
We drive straight from the airport to the hospital and we rushed inside. Adele was really trying to keep it together but I could tell that it was getting harder and harder for her to do.
Finally we get to Penny's room and Adele runs in with Angelo. I slowly walk in because I don't even know if she knows who I am.
Once I made it in the room Penny looks up at me and smiles. "So this is the man that is making my daughter so happy." She said with a smile which made Adele turn and smile at me. "It's a pleasure to meet you." I said and walked over to her bed. "Oh Rich this is my step dad John" Adele says and points to the man standing on the other side of Penny's bed. He sticks out his hand for me to shake and I do so.
After a while the doctors came back in to check up on Penny. "She is getting a lot better today. Maybe it's because her daughter and grandson are here. She talks about them a lot." The nurse said looking at Adele and Angelo who were sitting on the padded bench. "If Penny keeps continuing to do well she might be able to go home in a few days." The nurse continued.
Adele pov
We spent the whole day with my mom and once it got past 10 Rich and I decided that we should go to the house.
We are staying at my mom's house because she won't be there obviously and my step dad is staying with my mom.
Rich and I are in my old room that I had as a kid and Angelo is in the room where he stays every time we are visiting. My mom calls it 'Angelo's room'.
Just as I was falling asleep in Rich's arms. Which has never happened before because this is the first time we have even slept in the same bed as each other. My phone starts ringing. I thought it might be my step dad or the hospital but it wasn't. It was Simon.
"Hey" I said into the phone. "Hey Adele, is there any way I could pick up Angelo tomorrow around 1pm?" I realized that I totally forgot to tell Simon about us going to London. "Simon usually you could but we had to go to London today. It was super last minute and I forgot to tell you. I'm so sorry." I said "oh that's okay. Is everything okay?" "My mom is sick and she wasn't doing well but she is getting better now." "Oh no well please tell Penny I am sending my love." "Will do Simon. Take care." I said trying to end the conversation. "Bye" he said and we hung up the phone.
"What did he call about" Rich said putting his phone down. "He was wondering if he could pick up Angelo tomorrow but I told him he couldn't because we were here." I said "ok"
Rich goes back to his phone but I shut my eyes and try to go to sleep. "Babe I'm going to bed." I said and Rich leans over and kisses my forehead. "I love you baby" he said to me in a whisper. "I love you too." And just like that I was asleep.
I woke up the next morning alone in the bed. I slowly made my way into the bathroom to start getting ready since we would be going back to the hospital today.
Once I was ready I went to go see if Angelo was up but he wasn't. I decided that I was just going to let him sleep. It doesn't take him that long to get ready any way.
I make my way downstairs and see the love of my life sitting on the couch in the living room. "Good morning baby" I said while I walked over to him.
We had a slow morning but we made our way to the hospital around 12pm.
I walked into my mom's room to see her standing and walking around. "Mom?" I said "oh hey baby!" She walked over and hugged me and I stood there in shock. "Are you suppose to be up walking around?" I asked worried "I'm good to go home" when she said that I turned around and looked at Rich and he just gave a me blank stare.
John and I went with my mom to help her change into her clothes while Rich and Angelo waited in the room.
Once my mom was changed we all left the hospital and went straight to my mom's house.
It's around 2pm and my mom and John went up to their room to rest. Angelo also went to his room to go be on his phone so that left Rich and I in the living room by ourselves.
We were sitting on the couch and he places his hand on my thigh. "Baby" he said and I turn to look at him. "I want to talk to you." He continued "I want to have a family with you. I want us to live together. From the moment I met you I knew I wanted to be with you for the rest of my life. You are one amazing woman, you are the best mother, and you are also the best girlfriend." "I would love you move in with you but I don't know if I am ready for more children. Could we wait just a few more months?" I said hoping he wouldn't mind. "Sure baby. At the end of the day it is your body."
Angelo pov:
I was walking down the stairs when I heard Rich ask my mom if he could talk to her. When I heard that I stopped walking and sat down on the stairs to hear what they were going to talk about. I know its probably wrong to listen into a conversation with my mom and her boyfriend but whatever. My mom is famous for saying "stay out of adults business and don't listen in on peoples conversations but who cares."
I couldn't believe that she agreed to move in with him. They have only been dating for a couple of months and now they want to live in the same house and start a family. He is practically a stranger.
Don't get me wrong I love Rich but I don't know if I am ready for all of that. She is still my mom and I want to keep her safe. What if this man is trying to ruin our family?
