𝐌𝐘 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐓 closed as Stiles drives us to the Sheriff station. We spent the entire weekend piecing all the pieces together and are now heading down to talk to Mr. Stilinski before school and warn him about the deadpool.
The night of the party we found the decapitated body of Demarco outside by the cars, Chris thinks it could be professional hunters but he wasn’t the first murder. The Walcott’s were.
The four of them, all wendigos and killed by the Mute. Except Demarco wasn’t killed by the Mute, and neither was the girl last night. 23 year old Carrie Hudson. She was stabbed to death and found near the school.
We park outside the busy station and quickly climb out of the Jeep just as Scott’s bike pulls up beside us before we head inside.
“It’s a deadpool. A hit list of supernatural creatures,” Scott explains once we’re inside Mr. Stilinski’s office, “This is only part of it. The rest still has to be decoded.” Stiles puts the list down onto the desk in front of us.
“Who found this list?” Stilinski questions as he picks up the list.
“Lydia,” I tell him.
“How?”
“She wrote it. Actually she transcribed it,” Stiles corrects, “without realising it.”
“Banshee?” Stilinski guesses.
“Banshee,” Stiles confirms.
“Beautiful. All right, what are these numbers next to the names?” Stilinski questions.
“We’re getting to that,” Stiles tells him, “First you need to know that the code was broken with a cipher key.”
“Wait, you mean like a keyword?” Stilinski confirms.
“Uh, it was actually a name,” Stiles corrects. I bite my lip as Scott speaks up.
“Allison.” I fiddle with my bracelet nervously as a thick tension fills the air at the mention of her name.
“Her name broke a third of the list,” Stiles speaks after a moment of silence.
“And now we think there’s two other cipher keys,” Scott says, his voice still heavy with emotion from the mention of Allison.
“Which will give us the rest of the names,” Stilinski pieces together, “Okay, so how do we get the cipher keys?”
“Same way we got the code.” Lydia. She’s been working on it all weekend at the lake house, trying to unlock the rest.
“You didn't know about Demarco or Carrie. Hmm? And what about these other two names on the list? Uh, Kayleen Bettcher and Elias Town. They werewolves too?” Stilinski questions.
“We don’t know. Deaton said the Nemeton would draw supernatural creatures here.” I think back to the day of the sacrifices. We had no idea at the time how much would end up happening because of the sacrifice.
“Here being Beacon Hills? The population of Beacon Hills is just under 30 000.”
“And dropping,” Stiles adds, his dad giving him a look.
“But if we're talking Beacon County, then you're looking at close to 500,000. Look, how many werewolves, banshees, kitsunes and whatever the hell else is out there are we talking about? And what if the next cipher key uncovers not 12 names but 100?”
“Well there’s a limit,” I point out.
“Yeah, because of the numbers,” Scott adds, “We think that once we decode the names they’ll add up to 130.”
