Looks and Lunch

Prompt: AU. At the mall, Killian works at Hot Topic and Emma works at Abercrombie and Fitch, the store right across from Hot Topic. They're always giving each other looks and smiles. Killian decides to make a move after weeks of just glances and asks her if she wants to have lunch during their break.

Angst/Fluff/Smut/Other: Um, how about other. I mean, I would like to say fluff, but there's no kissing or anything; just them getting to know each other at lunch.

POV: Third Person Omniscient/Narrator

Killian walked through the automatic open and close doors of Deerbrook Mall. He brought with him two cups of Starbucks; one for him and one for her.

Her blonde hair always flowing in front of each of her shoulders and her smile always brightening his day; he could never get her off his mind. Every day, multiple times a day, they would make eye contact and god she was beautiful. And it wasn't a fake smile that would just let him down eventually; it was a genuine smile that could show she was a wonderful lady, inside and out.

He had to talk to her and the only way he could do that was to make a first impression.

This morning, he decided to stop by Starbucks and buy her a cup of coffee. He told the barista his order and waited for his two cups of coffee.

"Oh and on this one," He pointed to Emma's cup. "Could you write 'Emma' with a heart beside it?"

She smiled sweetly and grabbed a red sharpie from a little container. "Girlfriend?"

Killian blushed and scratched his head, "Well, I hope." She shot a slightly confused look, not trying to get into his business. "I'm making the first move with this cup of coffee."

"Oh! Well, I hope everything goes well," She says. Thanks," I read her name tag, "Marissa."

"My pleasure," She answers and motions for the next customer.

Now he stands inside Deerbrook Mall, questioning if he should really do this, each side of his mind arguing. "I can't back down now," Killian whispers to himself as he makes his way to Abercrombie & Fitch kind of unwillingly, his emotions taking control of my body.

When he arrives at the store, he frantically looks around to make sure she's not around. Then, he walks up to the cash register and gives the lady behind the counter the coffee.

She gives him a surprised look and he turns the Starbucks cup around while it's in her hands so Emma's name will face her. She reads it and asks, "Oh my god. Are you Emma's boyfriend? She's always talking about this guy an-" He shakes his head, "No, I'm not her boyfriend. Just give the coffee to the lass when she arrives and tell her it's from Killian. That's all you have to say."

"Alright, Killian," She replies, emphasizing his name while she bits her lip. "Thanks," He reads her nametag, "Ruby." She nods and he walks to Hot Topic, which is directly in front of Abercrombie & Fitch.

He walks in and heads straight to his friend, Robin, who's at the front counter. Sorry I was a couple minutes late. I had to uh- drop off some paperwork... yeah."

Robin gave him a sarcastic 'really' look and Killian sighed. "Fine. I, uh- got stuck in traffic?"

"You're a bad liar, KJ. Now, what did you really do that made you a couple minutes late to work? It's not like you were 3 hours late," He slapped his shoulder playfully and Killian scratched behind his ear.

"I bought some Starbucks, one for me and another for this beautiful girl that works at Abercrombie & Fitch. We're always making looks at each other and I want to get to know her, so I had to make a move. Later, I'm going to ask her if she wants to eat lunch; we have break at the same time."
