Ugh.

Her back ached so badly.

She slowly opened her eyes.

Whew. It was just a nightmare. The day before had been so hectic, so maybe that was the reason for the nightmare.

The room was so dark she couldn't see a thing.

That's weird, she thought. I remember sleeping with the light on.

And she was wearing her headphones last night.

She felt her head for the headphones.

No.

She touched her hair.

Why was her hair short?

She began to panic. Something weird had happened to her.

She felt her chest.

It...

It was flat.

The girl began to tremble. What the heck happened to her?

She stood up from her bed and tried to feel for her phone.

She put on the torchlight. The room was a lot spacious than-

Wait, this wasn't even her room. What was going on?

Instinctively, she looked around for the light switch.

She flipped it on.

This definitely wasn't her room. She turned to look at one of the windows.

What she saw made her head dizzy.

A man in his thirties with horribly disheveled hair and a horrified look stared back at her.

She shrieked in horror.

Was she seeing things?

To her dismay, it was frighteningly real.
This was not her face and this was not her room.

Staggering away from the window, her heart pounded furiously. The unfamiliar room spinned faster and faster.

Before she fell unconscious, one major unanswered question ran through her head.

What the hell happened to her?

THREE WEEKS EARLIER:

"Bae Eun Kyung!"

Eun Kyung rose up drowsily from her bed, silently cursing whoever yelled her name. It was an early Saturday morning, for providence's sake! Couldn't she have five minutes more of sleep?!

"Eun Kyung, if I get there before you get your lazy butt off the bed, I swear by my grey hair that I will wrench your ear off!"
She only rolled her eyes.

Ma. It was definitely Ma. Only Ma would yell and swear by her 'grey' hair on a Saturday morning. An EARLY Saturday morning.

"Coming, Ma." Eun Kyung caught the aroma of the already tender and hot dumplings wafting from the kitchen below her. Her poor empty stomach could not help but growl at the thought of sinking her teeth into those delicious, satisfying, tender -
"EUN KYUNG!"

She hurried down the stairs to see her mom glaring at her with murder in her eye. Oh, if looks could kill.

"M-Ma ?"

"I see you have finally decided to grace this house with your awakening," the older woman said while tapping her left foot on the wooden floor."Wash the dishes, and don't let me repeat that twice. Also, do me a favor and brush your teeth, will you? The stench coming from your mouth," she pointed at her mouth,"is enough to end any human being."
