9. Confession

Laying beneath a tree near her house, that is beside a river and close to forest of Konoha , Kiyoko was gazing at the clouds blankly.

It's her 16th birthday. Atleast according to data, though unsure she has nurtured a special feeling for this day. Only two of her friends don't forget to wish her; one is Kakashi, another one is Shisui.

This day is special for her for another reason. She has been promoted as a Jonin recently, and Shisui wanted to celebrate this day with her.

When Shisui himself became Jonin when he was only 12. Gradually Kiyoko discovered many surprising facts about Shisui. And one of them is he has unlocked mangekeo Sharingan at an early age when most uchihas barely awaken their normal Sharingan.

Ever since 4th hokage died, Kakashi became more cold and regid . He barely spoke but still she has contact with him. And thanks to Might Guy, Kakashi is not completely alone.

Kiyoko's chain of thoughts shattered when she heard Shisui's voice calling her name - " Hey kiyoko!" He yelled.

There was a small box in his hand. He opened it and Kiyoko noticed a green emareld that is looking like a leaf is hanging from a silver chain.

- "This is your present." Shisui uttered with his charming smile. " May be I should have thought something useful but I am giving this not only as your birthday gift but also as a symbol of our friendship."

-" I appreciate your thoughts Shisui"" I am giving my words, I will always keep this with me."

Shisui's smile broadened and Kiyoko can notice a spark in his eyes. But in a fraction of second, a serious look replaced that heartwarming smile.

Kiyoko became clueless and asked him - "What's the matter Shisui? Is anything wrong?"

Shisui took a deep breath and then suddenly grabbed both of kiyoko's hand, left her shocked.

- "I want to say something." Shisui finally stated." Promise me you will not be angry?"

- " Why are you behaving like this? This is so unlike you Shisui." kiyoko stated with a confused smile on her face. The situation was feeling weird.

On the other hand, Kakashi arrived there and found those two standing, holding hands. He wanted to rush over them, then he decided to watch the situation.

- " This is maybe our last meeting Kiyoko." Shisui stated with a serious tone. " Before you ask ' why ' let me explain and listen carefully."

Kiyoko remained silent, just nodded her head in approval. That serious tone in Shisui's voice created an uncanny feeling deep inside her heart.

-" I have a serious mission to accomplish. There is a high chance that I will not make it back. Before that, I need to confess my feelings for you."

She remained silent but her blue eyes met Shisui's charming black eyes and widened in a mix feeling of amazement and anticipation.

-" I want to give you something, Kiyoko... Close your eyes."
Kiyoko complied. Suddenly she felt a soft touch on her lips; with shock, she opened her eyes and stepped back instinctively.

Shisui was standing there with sorrowful eyes, hurt by her reaction. He tried to smile but that made him look more confused.

- I will not blame you if you refuse, I just wanted to convey my feelings before that chance slept out of my hands forever! Just remember this; for me, you are much more than a very good friend kiyoko! I will treasure every single moment we have spent together.

- Shisui I...
-" Don't need to say anything kiyoko- Chan, If miraculously I made it back, then give me your reply. Farewell! Soon,he disappeared leaving a puzzled kiyoko behind.

Kakashi came there to wish kiyoko happy birthday and present her a gift, a chakra blade specially made for her. But after witnessing this unexpected scene, he headed back to complete his pending mission.

- "I know you are there, come out!"

Kiyoko came out from her hiding with tear gliding through her pale cheek. After over hearing Itachi and Shisui's conversation and witnessing Shisui in this miserable bloody state everything is now clear to her though she know that she can do nothing for them!

- " So this is your life-threatening mission Shisui?" Kiyoko uttered through her sobbing.

Shisui smiled at her; looking at her with his one eye when a stream of blood was running from his other eye socket.

- " You will stay out of this. You have nothing to do with our clan's business. Do as Itachi say."

After finishing his words, Shisui pulled out his remaining eye from it's place filling kiyoko's heart with overwhelming pain.

- "I am trusting you with my eyes, Itachi. Now it's up to you. One more thing I want to give you. As kiyoko is also present here... My death can help you to awake an enormous power. Prepare yourself for that!"

Shisui sacrificed his own life to prevent a war , he jumped from the cliff into Naka river and was able to remove his existence leaving a suicide not to prevent Itachi being suspected for his death.

This was the end of "Shisui of The Body Flicker". He has died an honorable shinobi, sacrificing his life to bring peace in ninja world. And for him, Itachi and Kiyoko has unlocked an enormous power... The Mangekeo Sharingan!!

Itachi didn't notice, kiyoko's eyes were overflowing with tears as she was talking to herself " Why you didn't let me tell you Shisui, you are also more than a very good friend of mine!" Unable to restrain herself she burst into tears.

Giving full respect to Shisui's thoughts, kiyoko became ready to obey his instructions, as she collected herself and resumed her journey toward her destination.
