viii. a public arrest, episode eight ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
U-WUT and the rest of the residents sat at a table full of food, their celebratory dinner as Young ho had described it.
Though, he felt sort of out of place without his best friend there. Dohyun still wasn't talking to him, ignoring his text messages and calls.
Cha young asked U-wut about everything, 'did you fight?' she asked, causing U-wut to try and sink into himself. He had told her what the fight was about and she sighed, explaining she was just worried because he hadn't been coming home at night.
U-wut agreed with her that Dohyun must've been staying over at Joon woo's place. He expressed his concern for him, but Cha young brushed him off, explaining that Joon woo wouldn't hurt a fly.
U-wut did not believe that.
Pulling out his phone, he checked his messages again to see if Dohyun had responded at all. He felt like a clingy boyfriend, and not the good kind, at this point.
The messages still remained as delivered, earning a sigh from the man. He put him chopsticks down as he stood up from the table, leaving the restaurant. He stood outside, leaning against the wall as he typed another message and hit send.
'sorry for what i said, wanna talk tomorrow?'
He pocketed his phone just as the restaurant door opened and shut. "Did he answer?" Vincenzo asked, gesturing to his pocket that had the phone in it. U-wut shook his head, "No. He's probably just busy." Vincenzo nodded, "Yeah."
An awkward silence fell between them, the only sound heard was that if U-wut's shoe tapping against the concrete.
"Have the doctors said anything about Mari?" U-wut asked, glancing back over at the other man. Vincenzo let out a breath as the corners of his mouth lifted, "Yeah, It's looking good. She's in a good condition, they say she could wake up soon but only time will tell."
"That's great." U-wut said, "Will she be going back to Italy when she wakes up?" Vincenzo hummed as he thought it over, "Perhaps. She won't listen to my input, of course so it's all up to her."
U-wut laughs slightly, "Yeah Dohyun is like that too." Vincenzo sighed as he leaned against the wall, standing closely beside him, "You're really worried about him, aren't you?"
U-wut nodded, "Dohyun isn't.. He always sees the good in people, it's why he's my best friend. He let me into his home without a second thought, and that's what scares me about him. I just worry he'll let someone else in who isn't as.. I mean, not like me. Someone who would take advantage of him."
