That Rainy Day

Light droplets of rain grazed the sharp blades of grass. This created an eerie peace, which didn't last for long. Within only seconds, heavy footsteps thundered through, followed by the high-pitched laughter of young boys.
"Got you!" The one with blonde hair yelled as he tackled the red hair boy to the ground. The red hair boy thrashed, "Ow! Get off me Sam!"
The first boy had the start of a smug smile forming on his face and gleefully said, "Oh Sebby... Only if you ask for mercy will I, King Sam, let you free, feeble peasant."
"Fine! I ask for mercy!" Sebastian looked like he was beginning to get annoyed.
"Hmmm... Okay," Sam let go of him, so Sebastian stood up and dusted himself off.
"You really suck at this game!"
Sebastian chuckled and punched him playfully on his shoulder.
"Hey!" Sam squealed "How could you lay your fingers on me, King Sam!"
Sebastian rolled his eyes.

he rain had started to come down heavier, and so they had taken cover under the trees. Through the sound of the sudden heavy showers, they could hear someone's voice, "Sam! Sebastian! Come in now!"

"Ok Mom!" Sebastian called back.
hey ran as fast as they could back, yet still got soaked. Once they were inside, Sebastian's mother, Robin, gave them both a towel, which didn't seem to make much of a difference as they were still dripping onto the cold, hardwood floor. The whole house was made of wood as it had been put together piece by piece by Robin's own hands. She was the town carpenter, after all.
"Sam, I can call your mom and tell her your staying here tonight if you don't want to go back out in that," she pointed out the window with a look of disapproval on her face. Sebastian almost found this funny and tried not to laugh.
"That would be great, thanks Robin!" Sam said enthusiastically.
Robin smiled warmly, a lock of her ginger hair falling in front of her emerald green eyes.

The joy of the evening had been unusual since the start of the war. So it was a nice change. Sebastian and Sam played video games together on his small computer, Sam found it thrilling, Sebastian less. But they still had fun.
After a few hours, Sebastian turned off the computer.
"We should get some sleep now" He said causing Sam to frown "Awww but -"
Sebastian put his finger on Sam's mouth "No buts" he then began to lay down on his bed. Sam did the same, he laid down next to Sebastian. It was uncomfortable because of how small Sebastian bed was but they seemed to handle it just fine. Sebastian turned off the lamp and whispered to Sam "Goodnight".
