KALYNS POV ::
The boys and I were huddled in a group on the gym floor, stretching and having a chat. I couldn't get the one thought out of my head though, that I still had a week until I got to go home and see Lucie.

I was kind of zoned out, until someone said my name from the other side of the room. Billy Slater, our coach. "You've got a letter in the mail bud." He grinned, walking across the room to us, "from Lucie."

All the boys looked up and over to me as I was handed the letter. "Cheers mate." I stood up and sat on a weight bench, then looked at the front of it first and smiled, her signature little heart she drew at the bottom of every note, was on the corner of the envelope.

I slipped it open, and pulled out a photograph, and flipped it over to check it out.

Holy shit. I began to sob. I was struggling to process what sat before my eyes. Sage was holding an ultrasound. A baby sized jersey sat beside her in the couch cushion. We'd been trying for so long, I couldn't believe this was happening.

I turned it around for the boys to see. Instantly they got up and started cheering, standing up and jogging over to me, patting my back and shaking my hands. "My guy! Biggest congratulations mate!" Pat chuckled.

I stood up and walked over to my stuff and picked up my phone, I needed to call Lucie. It rung for a few seconds, then I heard her voice, "hey baby." I could hear the excitement building up.

"Love are you serious? We're having a baby?"

LUCIES POV ::
I stood in the airport, waiting for Kalyn to walk out of the terminal. I've never been so excited to see someone in my entire life. Only moments later I saw him. A straight face grew into a toothy grin, and he took an airpod out.

We made our way to each other, and he dropped his bags, wrapping his arms around my waist then kissing me. "Oh bub." He sighed, resting his chin on my head.

I then felt a tear drop to my scalp. I pulled away and took both his hands in mine, smiling up at him. "Excited?" I bit my lip and grinned. He let go of my hands and cupped my face in his, "Luce honey, I'm over the moon."

When we got home, he brought his bags through to our bedroom, as I took the ultrasound off the fridge. I walked around the corner and down the hallway, where he walked out of our room.

"Here." I smiled. He took it from me, and ran his eyes over the pictures, soaking in every detail he could. "7 weeks and 3 days today."

My insides began to fill with all sorts of positive emotions. I was starting a family with the sweetest, most selfless and inspiring man out there, I had him through my side during everything, and he never once had any doubt in me.

"Oh, and I have a video for you." He looked away from the ultrasound and back at me, where I spun my phone around and handed it to him.

The video they caught of Kalyns reaction, now the most sacred thing in my phone. He chuckled softly, and placed the photos down on the hallway table as he watched it. "Treasure that forever honey, we can look back at that when times are tough, and know that things can turn out alright anyway."

KALYNS POV /
I took Lucie out to dinner that same night, it had felt like ages since our last date night, I've missed it. But not only was I planning 'dinner' but something else along with it.

When we go out, we like to avoid any sort of fancy restaurants. Not because we don't want to spoil each other, but because we prefer quiet, romantic dinners. So tonight we picked up easy fish and chips, and took it out to Nobbys beach.

"KayKay, atleast let me take the blanket." she laughed softly, as I closed the boot of my car. I shot her a smirk and shook my head, "absolutely not, you don't have to lift a finger my love."

We walked out to the grass, where I placed the food down and shook the picnic blanket out. "I've missed this." She whispered softly, sitting down beside me.

"Me too, but quite frankly I've missed you every moment I was away. You're coming with me next time alright?" We got down on the blanket, over watching the water as the suns glowing it's reflection across the choppy water.

She curled up against my side, resting her head between my arm and chest. "How've you felt lately? How'd you know to take the test?" I rested my hand on her waist, I found out a week ago, and I'm still in disbelief.

"I started throwing up a few days after you left, and then obviously my periods irregular anyway but it had been a long time. That had me fully convinced." After hearing that, I felt guilt build up inside of me, because I wasn't there to help her, to be there for her.

We ate, and now I was getting nervous. I had to do it right now, it would be sunset really soon. I had to get her to stand up, without making it obvious, and I had to think fast. "Honey, how about we put this stuff back in the car and go for a walk along the beach?" Her face lit up, "yes please, I'd love that."

We made our way back from the carpark and down to the beach. I locked my fingers in with hers as we walked. Any given moment now I'll be popping the question.

Something that was making this a bit easier as well, is that she loved taking pictures of sunsets, so she was stopping constantly for photos.

And finally, the sun was in its perfect spot. I stood behind her for a second and wrapped my arms around her, watching her tap her phone screen, trying to take the perfect picture.

Then she held her phone down, scrolling through them. This was it. I released my grip of her body, and took a few steps back, pulling the box from my pocket, then finally got down on one knee.
