Narrator pov
Evangeline gave him another look. "The hell does that have to do with me not being from here?" She muttered out those words quietly yet with a slight hint of force. Ivan ignored her and chuckled once more. "Forget it lady! Don't break a nail thinking 'bout it." Ivan rolled his window back into place. His face back to being abstracted from sight. Evangeline clenched her fists as she stormed off. 'What a b_tch!' she cursed him out within her confidential thoughts. That brat didn't have the nerve to be a slight bit respectful. At least she wouldn't have to see the dork again..right?
A week slipped pass the world..
[October 29 1979]
Ivan darted out his door in his sweatshirt and crappy (also unnecessary) raincoat. The sun was setting like it was the week before. He hopped into his truck and struck his key into place. The engine roared as he backed onto the road.
Only minutes later his destination was reached. "711..!" He raced out his car like a candy bribed child and into the shoe boxed shaped convince store. Elevator like music hummed around the store as he strolled around the isles. Why was he here again..? Oh yeah..
Nothing.
Ivan soon grew bored strolling around. The door dinged as he left the elevator music and isles behind him. The sky officially grew dim. The howl of the wind sticked around Ivan as he leaned on the store's outer wall. Should he go home? Or did he refuse to-
'Oh sh_t..' Suddenly he spotted someone he knew. Someone he practically almost got killed. She wore an orange and red jacket that made her arms seem thicker than normal. Her thin dark skin seemed quite soft yet scratched. Ivan knew her and even gave her his name, but what was her name..?
Oh crap she spotted him!
"Oh great..you." she spoke sarcastically yet her voice was soft with only a slight crack. Ivan rolled his eyes as he responded. "And oh great it's...What's your name, lady?" Ivan chuckled to himself even though what he said was only a normal question. The 'lady' raised her eyebrow..She truly did see him as an idiotic brat.
"Just call me Eve."
Ivan was surprised..She actually gave him her name.
Well..a nickname.
"Eve huh?" She nodded and located her eyes to his eyes directly. Clearly she wanted something.
"What did you mean the other day?"
"Eh..?"
"You said not to walk around after twenty hundred hours..like it is right now."
"Well this town has its stories-"
"Bull sh_t"
"Excuse me..?"
"I ain't superstitious, kid"
"Kid? I think we're the same age."
"That's not the point."
